3-4 Defense

    I was at the game today, I noticed they threw this in. This is the first I'd seen a true 3-4 from the Titans since last season. And I noticed J Jones was in at DE in this package.
    Think this is something we'll utilize, or just for fun, considering the powers that be considered this a pre-postseason game, if you get my drift.

    That's awesome.
    I've often pondered them running a 3-4. Al as the nose tackle, JJ and TB as the ends. Then have KB, KVB, Freak, Thornton as the LBs; of course use Freak and/or KVB as the pass rushing LBs.
    I know they've swapped KVB and Al before in formation.

    yeah, I'd really like to see:

    Line: KVB, Al, J Jones or Tony B.

    LBs: Kearse, Thornton, Tulloch, Bulluck (with Kearse on the strong side)

    anyway, that's the dream team.

    or take Tulloch out, put Thornton & Keith as MLBs, and put in Hayes or Ford at the other OLB.

    probably just something we had to do with less bodies in the rotation this week. no ball, kvb or haynesworth.

    To be honest, you could switch KVB back and forth from line to LB. Kearse might also possibly be interchangeable as well.

    I've thought with the way our D is built, we could throw in some different fronts like this and add a bit of creativity. But what we saw is probably just due to all the injuries on the d-line. Also our basic scheme has worked well with this personnel.

    man.. what about All three big dudes on the line at the same time.. Jones, Al, Brown. Running back's nightmare.. especially with Kearse and KVB at OLB.

    Totally agree. Changing it at this point is probably a bad idea,the whole "not broke, don't fix" thing. I like the fact that we can get a little creative now and then though.
