Yes, I forgot to mention those crucial drive killing drops. We need some healer to come and lift the curse on the organization. Regardless of new coaches or players, same damn issues plaguing the team yearly.

This thread is more about the overall season. We have a post-game discussion thread going for yesterday's game already.

We need an O-Line coach who will kick ass. We used to have that, along with the players needed. I'd love to see Lewan pull his **** with Bruce Matthews next to him. He'd last 8 minutes.

Jon Robinson has done a horrible job of acquiring star/playmaking talent. Sure the roster might be a little better over the years, but it’s littered with average and below average players. When the top Free Agents and high draft picks you bring in give you average production, you’ll have average results.

JRob is the GM version of Jeff Fisher. His decisions are the field goal versions of roster management. He values average players that were a part of good teams with good coaching/culture rather than players that generally have good talent. This team is gonna once again be 9-7 at best. It will only be a matter of time before this team is 4-12 or 6-10 with him at the helm in the future.

Some of them are even paid well or even at the top of their position (Butler, Saffold, Lewis, Humphries). Then you have others who were top picks (Conklin, Davis, Jackson, Evans) who are decent players, but have underachieved for their draft position for whatever reason.

The 2 best playmakers on the entire team are arguably a 3rd round safety and a 5th round linebacker.

I would say he has to do better early in the draft and during free agency. But I have zero faith in him moving forward.

You got people saying “let him get his QB.”

No thanks. I saw him trade up to get his tackle in Conklin. I’ve seen how awful he is at evaluating defensive lineman and offensive lineman. He built a line full of slow road graders to play in a zone scheme. He got his 5th overall WR who makes insane catches in training camp but then drops open passes in real games and is currently being outplayed by a 2nd round rookie. He got his corner and PR specialist who is currently 3rd on the depth chart on defense and has been benched as a returner.

Oh yeah, he also got his coach he coveted who’s in game decision making is highly suspect, who seems to never make in game adjustments and is somehow doing worst than the previous coach who he was at first handcuffed to and should of never been given a 3rd chance to be a head coach in the first place.

So yeah, I have no interest in seeing what kind of QB this man would bring in or another off-season of bringing ex-patriots, drafting early picks to be out produced by later round players, last minute camp bodies and signings or UDFAs.

Murlarkey was fired because of his stubbornness and loyalty. Vrabel slowly treading that same path with comments like this. This piece is just head scratching..

Going into the season, I wasnt very hopeful about Mariota but I expected the team around him to be better

My expectations were that Mariota could be a game manager and we would be fine on offense.

Nope. Line still has issues and were still dropping passes we shouldn't.

It just isnt fun. Add in the fact that shoutbox has become Facebook, and is just as bad as taboo was, there's really not much to look forward to on game days anymore.

Mariota has taken some unneeded risks on scrambles this season ... is this not the situation where those risks are OK to take, rather than making the throw? 3rd and 11 in the 4th quarter of a tied game, would you prefer to see Marcus decide to take off here? He is going to get by #57, everyone else is behind the play or moving away from him. It will be up to the DB inside the end zone to make the stop, he is either going to score or give us a 4th and 1 or 2, which we could have then confidently went for.

These 2nd and 10s in the 2nd quarter on our side of the 50, getting 3 yards and taking impact ... I'm yelling at him to stop doing that crap. But I just feel like this is the exact situation when he should be using his legs.

I'm not against bringing in a new QB at all, but I have 0% confidence that the OL can protect the new QB. Id rather fix that situation first because we could easily turn into the redskins in the blink of an eye. Drops have always killed us in big situations, guys aren't focused enough, and yeah Dion Lewis is almost a waste of a down at this point.
