watch it now...your stepping into a dangerous area...lol
Man our boys came out last night with a purpose and lit them up with 3 goals. They got complacent in the 3rd and almost let them come back to tie. Finish teams off!
The Preds have a relatively short history, so most fans are going to be new. And it's common for teams that are doing well to have more interest from fans than when they aren't doing well. Look at the Avalanche. They won the Cup the first year they were in Denver. I guess all Avalanche fans are bandwagon fans, unless you were a fan of the Nordiques.
preds been around since 98, roughly same as titans moving to nashville. i think lots of fans joined their base since like last 3 years... those are bandwagoners.
Yep- free tickets for me back on 02. My son and I were hooked (he was 5 at the time). We were walking to our seat and I discovered he wasn't with me. I started back-tracking panicked I lost him (or worse). I came up on the Bridgestone crew doing a live bit for the "in-game" with a kid- it was him. They gave him an autographed jersey for knowing who wore "22". We still laugh at his buck-teeth big eared 5 year old screen shot......
Yep- Bridgestone always has put on a good "in-game".
Bunch of sore-ass mostly eastern seaboard teams can't stand it that a team from the South has advanced the quality (raised the standard) of the game experience for the fans.
(cue @Ewker BS tag........)
It's entertainment. Not a gang. A "true fan" doesn't care about the other "fans", they only care about the team winning. If you're looking for a merit badge of fandom- give it up.
And a lot of Titan fans watched the Titans product die on the vine.
The Preds have put together one of the best "fan products" over the past 5 years. Poile has does a great job with the team. The Nashville market has embraced the product because it is a SUPERIOR product. Of course there are going to be more fans. Ownership invested in a quality product and it's paying off for them.
We'll see if the Titans do it. I honestly am tired of the Titans gameday. It is way too expensive, the concessions have never been good, the game-day entertainment is stale, the owner shoved Mularkey and his staff on us, etc. And only now are the Titans emulating the Preds formula. They hired the same marketing firm and game-day entertainment. Too little too late IMO. And ftr- I've been a season ticket holder for the Titans since 02 as well.
The key to it all... just as it is for the Titans... is WINNING.
I was a season-ticket holder during some of those lean years. The reason I gave them up was because it was tough getting downtown for weekday games just to watch them get crushed.
I totally agree that the Preds have done it right the last five years but it's all about bringing in quality players and improving the product more than anything else, IMO (Winning).
Bro such BS. You wouldn’t call the majority of Pats fans bandwagoners?
I don’t hate the majority of Pats fans cause they want to cheer for a winner. I hate the majority of Pats fans because they are obnoxious/arrogant POS’s. But that’s also been my impression of a the majority of eastern seaborder’s I’ve met. I’m biased.
