2017 College Football Thread

I'm not bragging about anything but there is no need to schedule FCS teams. There are plenty of cupcake FBS team that can be scheduled.

The conferences that have switched to 9 conference games are now playing at least 10 of 12 games against P5 schools. SEC and ACC are the only two hold outs I believe for the 9 game conference schedule and then both conferences still play FCS teams.

 

Oh, but there are multiple reasons for teams outside the power five to stay in FBS. Money is the main reason, but there is also the chance to be included in a big conference one day, a la TCU. Playing higher profile programs also helps with recruiting.

 

I agree, there is no benefit in playing FCS schools other than an easy win and playing time for backups.

 

The only reason is that the small schools make big bucks for that one game.
