I'd consider it almost a waste of resources if we took one earlier than the 5th. This is a strong FA runningback class, we need all of our draft picks to load up on 3-4 starters and depth.

    3-4 starters.....

We will be lucky to get 2 this year.

Webster has been good at making starters happen in the first three picks. Rotational and depth 4th-.

I would say if we take a RB in the 4th or 5th, we get a starter quality guy.

I'm also a huge proponent of trading back this year.

Webster is also a huge fan of skill position guys.

Dropping to the 15th pick nets us a middle of the pack third.

    QB/OT/RB.

But nope. It'll be more like

    OLB(DE)/OT

....damnit why do all the offense guys go in a year where other needs force our hand?

Going to a 3-4 defense for the first time since the Jerry Glanville era will make strengthening the linebacker position top priority. With the linebacker core we have now, adding a "Greg Hardy" or "Brian Orakpo" would be the perfect additions. Jurrell Casey is already the perfect nose tackle and signing a "Michael Bennett" this time around would probably solidify the front seven in a "perfect" world.

The problem is our CAP MONEY for 2014 (as we all know) isn't like it was during 2013. Signing both Verner and Pollard are the TOP 2 priority's as is the decision on whether or not the Titans are keeping Chris Johnson. I really think Whisenhunt should keep most of this team intact from last year with at the (very most) sign at least (one of the two) top level free agents (listed above) and re-charge the key positions in need through the draft.

Key Draft Positions: (OT, DE, S;) with the possibility of (RB & QB) being another possible concern.

Keep Johnson, Verner & Pollard Whisenhunt; Draft like a genius, Coach like a Champion!!!

Casey is a perfect nose tackle?

I quit reading right there. Because no. NT would waste dudes talent immensely.

Why...??? He is a defensive tackle that hasn't pressure inside like anyone else before other than Haynesworth....who registered 8 sacks at best during the top of his career. Jason Jones was originally drafted as a DT who converted to DE and was much better off playing outside rather than inside. Jurrell Casey was drafted for his big body athleticism since DAY ONE.

"NT would waste dudes talent immensely?"

He can play ANY position on the line, but has steadily improved each and every year inside to have a career year in 2013. Why would you think he would be wasted inside as a NT, when coordinators all throughout the league playing a 3-4 rotate their fronts and player personnel drastically play to play, game to game, season through season...???

And "why" would you quit reading right there??? Aren't we all on the same team??? It's all positive feedback from a loyal fan.

Because NT or 1 tech/0 tech isn't what you're thinking it is.

Most NTs take up space. Eat blocks and rarely get into the Backfield in the 34.

I just read that the titans could be interested in McCown to compete for a starting position. If that's the case I must say I was very impressed with what I saw of him last year. Now the question is if it was only because of the system. He's the same age as rivers, Eli, and Big Ben.

Mccown is staying with the bears. And no. He's backup status in a good system.

I feel that McCown almost needs his own thread.
