Last year was weird... our offense fluctuated from one style to another.

He seemed legit when the offense would open up from the "norm". Some would argue the opened up offense is what got us into the playoffs to begin with.

    I miss Mularkey.

Only playoff win in last decade was with Mularkey. 'nuff said.

Look, I like Mularkey. But it’s pretty plain to me after one year that Vrabel is the better coach.

I've seen this listed in a few areas. My question though is why would he want to come here? I assume it's because he doesn't actually call plays so it would be similar as LaFleur last year where even with the same title, it's a promotion to call plays? If that is the case, how do we know he's even a good OC? Could turn out to be another LaFleur, who I was really excited about and then it diminished very quickly.

edit: As for Vrabel, love the hire. Getting rid of Mularkey had to happen, even though I didn't think it was going to. The 9-7 record Mularkey got, I think a Vrabel led team would have won at lest 11. That schedule turned into one of the easiest for any team that I can remember. There's no way either of these HC can be compared, it's not close. And Vrabel will have a much better handle on the role next year after a season of exp.

I also dont see it as very easy for teams to lure a coordinator to a new team to coach at the same level. Like you said, why would he leave the Saints as OC to join the Titans still as OC? Seems like an extremely difficult sell.
