HOUSTON Titans tackle David Stewart was whistled for two personal foul penalties in the span of five plays early in the second half.

The first came during Danieal Manning’s 55-yard interception return for a touchdown, and it moved Houston’s kickoff up 15 yards. The second came on the fourth play of the next series, when Stewart pulled the helmet off Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.

“He’s always an aggressive guy. We like that about Dave,” coach Mike Munchak said. “He’s just got to be smarter not to be the guy caught doing whatever he was supposedly doing on the plays that he had.”

The Texans registered several complaints about Stewart, including that he threw punches.

“I saw some things I’ve never seen before,” Texans defensive end Antonio Smith said. “I saw him try to pull somebody’s hair out, tried to ride somebody’s back, which I thought was kind of funny, actually.”

Said linebacker Brooks Reed: “It was like a bar fight, that third quarter at least. You see it on film watching other teams play, so I knew it was inevitable.”

Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said the Texans were guilty of some dirty play as well.

“It was chippy all day on both sides. I saw people punch (Stewart) in the face, and there was no handkerchief,” Hasselbeck said. “I don’t know what to say. I guess his reputation got him.”

Stewart... I feel like he had a LOT to do with the Texans getting fired up and turning our downhill momentum into a full-on downward spiral.

I have always respected his gritty attitude and willingness to protect the QB, but you have to play smarter than he was. I don't think he was actually pulling hair.....but that is kind of funny.

I've always loved Stewarts nastiness, but he's got to control himself. Two 15-yarders kill your offense. He's gotta know when to stop.

there was no flag when that pregnant LB flew over the play and landed on 'Big Country'

cows talking crap after that gift of a no call, I mean they actually threw a flag then picked it up all appolegitecally like. Then at the end of that play Stewart got into it with a Cow and the 'regular' refs only see Stewart - complete game changing BS reffing but totally expected. Bring back the lingerie league football refs. At least they were too stupid too intentionally destroy the Titans chance at a W

Watching at the stadium I could definitely tell they were targeting Stewart after the plays. Even saw the punch that was thrown. Really pathetic for these Texans players to act like it was ALL on Stewart.

Stewart has a really bad temper. He could use it to his advantage. Instead he makes costly errors time after time. If there's a personal foul on our offense, there's a 90% chance it's on him. In fact, it may be a 100% chance. Not sure who else on our offense gets flagged for personal fouls.
