Make Harper FB, cut Q. Johnson and Mooney, give RB Reynaud roster spot

Yea, I thought all of the backs ran well against Tampa.... then the common denominator thingy hit me... maybe it was just Tampa.

Munch has publicly said that Ringer and Harper are not far apart....so maybe

 

Priority should be to keep CJ and Reynaud. Let the others duke it out.

If Palmer cannot find a creative way to take advantage of Reynaud's skills on offense, then Palmer should not be an NFL OC.

A guy with that kind of speed and open field skills always comes in handy if you use them right. You can't have too many of those.

 

So 2 preseason games vs 3rd or 4th string defenses and now the guy is Barry Sanders??

Can he even block a blitz.......We don't even know yet people are giving him the second spot at the RB position phhssss.

Were not saying he's a Barry Sanders...were just using common sense when we see an obvious athelete with game changing speed and ability. And not just in the pre season, but at practice too where I attended two. He was wearing our special teams kick return coverage unit out and also our D-line when he carried the ball. He's for real.

 

I'm not saying he needs to be a starter. Or even a backup. But he CLEARLY needs to be in on a package of plays. Line him up in the backfield some, at WR some, and he CLEARLY needs to be our returner.

 

Munch was on midday 180 today during my lunch break. Sounds like they are really trying to find a spot for Reynaud. He says they want to create the team with the best players available (not by how long they have been around) and by gut feelings when there isnt a lot of time in pre season.
They were not expecting Reynaud to do as well as he has, so now they have tough decisions. He talked most about Mariani kinda competing with Reynaud on special teams. Basically he said they both have been good on special teams, but he said Mariani is getting better at WR and the QB's are feeling more comfortable with him. While Reynaud is doing a good job at RB.

Said they hope to get Reynaud some playing time with the starters later in the game on Thursday. They want to see how he can pick up a blitz to protect the QB and stuff.

 

He is clearly better than ringer or harper
