A poorly contrived way of trying to prevent further Rhett Bomar and J.D. Quinn incidents would be my guess

 

Miami's going to get punished and hit very, very hard, but they're not going far enough for death penalty.

TV bans seem likely....and they'll get close but i dunno unless the university itself was pushing for all this (or insisting(/lying) they did nothing wrong when they knowingly did such - see USC - it will stop short of the death penalty


SMU was extremely corrupt and - among other things - crossed the line, took a step back, waited till the NCAA turned around so they could spit on them, and then crossed it again
