Been thinking about how much Jake Locker reminds me of Steve Mcnair and a bit of Brett Favre also.I was thinking about how much i would love to see Jake have a good solid decade run of success like we experienced with Steve Mcnair back in the day.I would love to see us make a run eventually with Jake Locker like we did with #9 back in the 99-03 years.Sure Jake will start out learning and picking it up just like Steve did before him but i can't wait to see how well he plays.Jake Locker seems like a real solid, tough, hard working player who is going to give all he has and then some.I'm really hoping he leads us into another era of great success and we can also move on from the lean years the last half decade when the offense was mostly sputtering and thats before CJ came along to jump start things. The QB position here has been horrible since Mac left and the last five years have been especially rough for us at that position.

Please don't start this. This comparison happened immediately with Young.

Let them be their own players.

What i'm really hoping for is Jake gets that level of success Steve eventually had and that i'm really happy we have someone who is willing to work and lead the team.Which we really haven't had a true leader since Mac left and for the most part it is true. Most people might disagree but i think we wasted a good half decade on a player who really didn't want to lead the team or be a true leader and thats definitely been something we need.

Aside from McNair and VY both being black obviously, they couldn't have been more different as football players and field generals. That comparison doesn't make sense.

Doesn't have anything to do with Color but really more as far as how the person is.In that regard Vince Young was very different from Steve because he wasn't strong mentally or physically or had what it takes to be a leader like Mac did.Warren Moon and Steve Mcnair are my favorite QB's ever. Both were very good at that position.

All of us are hoping Jake Locker achieves some level of greatness like Steve McNair did, but it's so early to really expect anything right now. McNair didn't do much til his 3rd season in the league. Jake is in the infant stages of his. That MVP season also took 9 years to happen, so I'm actually hoping Jake surpasses McNair in terms of success.

I don't know about you guys but i'm ready to see someone lead this team for an extended time at the QB position. There has not been any stability here at that position in a good five years which is a good half decade.

The main reason for the comparison was that Vince was mentored by McNair since the time he was in high school.

I am dying to feel as good as I did when I was watching McNair run the offense. The man delivered excitement and if we lost it wasn't because he didn't give it his all.

I hope that Locker is that type of player. Indications thus far are that he it is likely he will be but it is early. I am bothered by his accuracy and his average pocket presence right now. I'm sure that will improve with time. I think McNair's accuracy was better than Locker's at this stage. I really want to see plays extended (and made) the way McNair did. The stadium rocked when he would freeze the safeties and CB on a broken play or rollout. VERY hard to opposing teams to defend.

Too soon for all we know Locker turns to be a bust
I don't like to compare. Let them grow to be thier own thing not ghosts of the past.
