Don't do business with Hallmark Auto, specifically Hallmark Hyundai. I bought a Elantra there but only after we talked numbers on the phone, the sales guy assured me that we could do the deal numerous times on numerous phone calls. I told him every time "don't waste my time. I don't want to drive an hour out there and then have you tell me you can't do it." He again would assure me it could be done. We make an appointment, I drive out there in rush hour traffic and he decided to go home early that day. So talk to someone else and the price they brought me was couple of thousand more. I was livid. I stormed out. Next day, no phone call or emails from them. Then I write them to tell them how they lied to me and rest assured I would make it my mission to tell everyone about them. Then I get a call and they honor the deal we had talked about. Go out there and everything is fine. I sign the papers and the sales guy asks me to give him a positive survey when I get it from Hyundai corporate. I told him I would be honest and tell everything that happened but that Hallmark stepped up to the plate and righted their wrong.

Since then I never got my title because they waited 27 days to turn in the paper work. There was a truck mat missing when I bought it and it took over a month for me to get it because I got the run around. Would have to write/call 3-4 times to get any response. Basically, they completely wrote me off as a customer. So when I got the survey, I reflected my experience honestly. Well, suddenly he wants to talk to me. Here is the email I got from the sales guy I dealt with at Hallmark Hyundai:

"I am bothered by the survey as we discussed when taking delievery what was expected from both of us. You agreed not to give a bad survey. If I knew I would still receive this I would of never went extremely far out of my way to make things right. The process with the tag and title have to do with the states process. I hope you enjoy your car."

Of course I responded and cc'ed Hallmark Owner, Hyundai of America CEO, and Hyundai customer service. I heard from the office of the CEO with in the hour and still have yet to hear anything from Hallmark Auto. My hope is that some how it gets back to the sales man that the guy he treated this way indeed is letting folks know. Social media can be a bit##.

    Thanks for letting me rant.

Otherwise, how do you like it? ;)

I had a similar experience the last time I bought new. "Crown Charlie" told me one thing by phone and another when I got there. I told them to forget it only to get a call the next day saying they'd honor it. I walk in with the check and they pushed financing it through them until I threatened to walk. I was back at least six times after that for various repairs. I had to threaten the Lemon Law for them to get the car right.

I swore then I'd never buy new again and haven't. Carmax has been a good experience for me though you have to be willing to wait for what you want.

I will be sure not to go there when I buy my next car. You have my word.

Everybody should already know car salesmen are crooks.

Love the car...it is what I wanted. Downsize from my 13 mpg truck to a 35-40 mpg commuter with some bells and whistles. I like the fact that Hyundai corp. CEO's office took charge and called me back with in the hour of sending it. To bad the dealership doesn't feel the same way.

It's a shame because it doesn't have to be that way.

Hyundai Corp. is really stepping their game up these past few years. I saw something fairly good looking starting at $19k on TV.

  7. I had to walk out of Beaman Toyota a few times to give me a price I was willing to accept on my Prius, but they never told me one thing on the phone and changed it when I walked in the door.

The first time a dealer did that to me would be the last time I talked to them. And I'd tell the manager why before I walked out.

It's no mystery why some already stressed people walk into places of business today and open fire...

(Disclaimer: In no way is Hoffa suggesting violence should ever be taken)
