We now know Titans owner Bud Adams will wait til the end of the season to determine Fishers future with the team. But let's help the old timer from Houston decide whether allowing Fisher to stay in Nashville is a good or bad idea. Let's set aside our emotions towards Jeff Fisher, and honestly & fairly evaluate his most recent decisions. Take it back to the teams most successful season in 2008 when we went 13-3 with a BACKUP QB. I think we'll all agree that's about the time when it all went south.... From 2008 til today, what have been Fisher's best and worst moves?

Hiring Chuck Cecil as defensive coordinator. I say that with no animosity. It was just a bad move.

I think that the warning signs were there in 2008 even though we started 9-0.

We were still having too many stalled drives and CJ carries for no gain or loss. We were winning but not putting together complete games.

The Jets destroying us was shocking.

I think you have to take VY completely out of the equation and take a good hard look at our play calling on Offense.

Doesn't matter who we have had on the roster or at co-ordinator it's been very similar and predictable since 06.

When it's worked it's been good but it has failed more than it's worked.

Amano is not good enough to start at centre. He was the weak link at guard and he's the weak link at centre. Harris played well subbing for Mawae at centre last season.

I'm not the onlyone whose thought that our O'line would be better if Harris and Amano were switched.

Letting Crumpler go has turned out to be a big mistake. It wasn't until he'd gone that I realised just how much a factor he was in our running game.

Without the right players to play a power running game Fishers style is a failure. He doesn't seem to have anything else to offer and I can't help but think that the game has left him behind. Titans are regularly out coached.

    The Leadership on the team
Keith Bulluck wasn't just a defensive leader he was a team leader. Neither he or Kevin Mawae would have allowed a fuming and upset VY to get to that blow up point in the locker room after the Skins game.

Players must have seen where Vince's mind was at but noone stepped up to fill that leadership void.

    Defense
This season at 5-2 (should've been 6-1) our defense was making plays despite giving up yards. We were the 3rd toughest defense in the league to score on.

Once VY was hurt our Offence tanked leaving the Defence on the field way too long.

Our wide 4-3 heavy cover 2 based defense is great when the front 4 get pressure. A sieve underneath when they don't too easy run on.

When we have had strength at tackle it's a thing of beauty. Without that our defenses face a slow death without being able to get off the field.

In my mind Fisher's style of play requires both units to be great in order to succeed.

We have seen Fisher teams with great defenses carry the Offense but not since the best years of McNair,George and Wycheck has the Offensecarried the Defense successfully.

For too too many pieces have to be in place for a Fisher team to succeed when compared to the Offensive and Defensive schemes of other successful teams.

We only need to get a couple of injuries and it all falls apart like a house of cards.

    Player decisions
There are too many odd decisions to mention where it seems the most talented player doesn't get on the field.

Sometimes sticking with an experienced playeris a wise move until the other guy develops. However if the experienced guy isn't getting it done why not let the talent develop with game time.

Hope is now that 'experienced' guy who is now failing. Where is Vinny Fuller? Made the nickle his own is still a safety.

Why is Finnegan being allowed to continue to struggle on the right side of the field? He was outstanding on the left side?

Since when did Tulloch become a Keith Bulluck coverage linebacker?

Scaife is both a poor blocker and an inconsistent receiver yet he continues to get the most reps at what is a key position in Fisher's Offence.

On the positive side I'm struggling to identify much.
    Mariani was a good move.
    Kern was a good move.
I think Randy Moss was a good move but discussing that raises other questions.

Kevin Mawae- at the time president of the NFLPA- loudly asserts that the NFLPA wants an end to players with disruptive behaviors and off-field troubles; Fisher responds by shielding PacMan Jones.

    R2P2, R3P, R2P2, R3P, repeat ad nauseum.

For some reason, he actually thinks that Britt and Moss can't be on the field at the same time. He feels that insuring a stater's job is more important than winning.... unless that starter's name happens to be Vince Young.

He dosen't put the best team on the field.

Multiple game losing streaks almost every year. This year he's going for seven.

Most of the team looks like they have just tuned him out.

I wonder to myself if this wasn't another Bud Adams move.. Afterall, Cecil did play for the Oilers in a far away time, So did Reinfeldt.. I often wonder why Adams didn't just leave the damn Oilers name and history in Houston when he moved here. I hate this Texas connection stuff and it'll only die when Adams does.

    Hindsight is 20/20.

At the time of the decision, it seemed like a great move. Everyone, including myself, was excited to see what he could do with our defense.

Who did you want our defensive coordinator to be? Any realistic options?

Already took the job with New Orleans. Otherwise, he would be here. I definitely wanted him back.

Anyone else? There's really not another realistic option.

Everyone jokes about Wade coming here as a head coach... Well, he can come be our defensive coordinator, and I'd be just fine with that.
