Maybe so. Screw em if they care more about Vince than the team. But believe it or not there ARE plenty of people out there who are Titans fans first and foremost and still like VY. It isn't an either/or situation.

It's not that his performance on Sunday "turned me on", I'm merely giving credit where credit is due. Before Sunday a lot of the haters were yucking it up, talking about how many INTs he was gonna throw and all that. When he doesn't throw an INT, they say "well he only threw for 125 yards". Please. Just give it a rest. We won for the first time in over 10 months. Not only did we win, but we won convincingly. Does it really matter how many yards Vince threw for? He did what was asked of him and did it very well. Too many of the haters sound like they won't settle for anything less than a Tom Brady-type performance each week. I'll take 125 yards and a W over 250+ yards and a L any day.

I just can't believe that so many people are sitting here nit-picking instead of manning up and saying "Well, he really surprised me on Sunday. Hopefully he can keep it up." Titans fans should be hoping that he has indeed improved and learned from his mistakes rather than trying to tear him down every chance they get.

That said, I still want to see what he does for the rest of the year before I decide whether or not I'd like to see him back as the starter next season. But geez, some of you guys are such haters that you can't even manage a simple " 'atta boy" after a win where he completes 83% of his passes with no turnovers.

And I'm face palming at your logic.

Nowhere in Titansman1's post was Collins mentioned, so I'll assume you simply have the need to compare Young to somebody, and choose Collins. Not too bad of a comparison after one game, but here I and others are, being cautiously optimistic that our third overall can consistently manage the game. Manage the game.

To me, if Vince can at least manage the game, and sign an extension that involves a reduction of pay, and that is to make more money available to sign other good players, I'll have no problem with that. That's acceptable to me. On the other hand, I can understand other fans wanting more from a third overall draft pick, and wanting more from the QB position.

Right now, Young is a turd. He just happens to look a little shinier than Collins. He's still a turd though. It's like having to choose the prettiest fat girl to take home after being promised Megan Fox.

Show me a QB that's had 350yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT and a high completion rate in a game without a single pro-bowl receiver on their team if you think I picked the wrong person to compare him to.

Chicken-egg argument. If you have an all-star QB, you're going to have one or two all star receivers.

10-6 would get us in this year...the AFC is WEAK... I think even at 9-7 we'd have a 50% chance. Our biggest threat is the Texans because they have a really easy schedule... I really think someone is getting in at 9-7

I agree, which is why I compared apples to apples. KC with similar core of guys who went 13-3 to his expectations of VY. I'd imagine every sane Titans fan was happy with KC's performance last year.

Edit: Although our top receiver at the moment was a 3rd stringer on the Steelers. :\

Somehow, I don't think you get it. If you put Manning on this team, our receivers would benefit from his ability, and one or two of them would likely be pro bowlers.

I was somewhat satisfied with Collins's performance last season. He was mediocre. I'm fine with mediocre as long as we have a great running game and defense to make up for it. Any sane fan would want an elite QB. Any sane fan would expect at least good consistent (think Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning etc..., not necessarily elite like Peyton Manning) play from the third overall.

Young certainly looked sharper Sunday than Collins has all season. That's for sure. He was still mediocre, however. Calling out the logic of fans that want more than mediocre from a top five draft pick is asinine.

The NFC has more teams that are better this year but I would not call the AFC Weak. The Superbowl Champs will be from the AFC again this year. I think you have to win your division in order to get in there are 5 other teams that only have to win 5 games and they would probably win the tie breaker with the Titans right now. What you are suggesting can be done but the Titans can not lose a game until that last game of the season to be in contention.

Good luck I hope it pans out but it will take a total melt down from some other teams to help in this.

Well, lets talk about some things that may help the Titans...

The 49ers have key injuries in their defense.

    The bills cant score points.

@ Houston, on monday, with everything to prove and they don't have Owen Daniel (and maybe not Steve Slaton)

I know its a small chance, but those things play into our favor. With 4 wins in a row and momentum swinging in our favor, we get the cardinals at home. We just have to hope 3int Kurt warner shows up instead of 3td kurt warner.

Then we get to go play Indianapolis. I have to say... The last game vs Indy, we went toe to with them and probably could have went to half time with a lead or being down by 1 point if KC doesn't toss the ball away and stall on offense. I think the Colts have some weaknesses. I don't see us winning this game, but its not out of the realm of possibility.

Rams.. If we don't beat the rams, then i give up.

The Dolphins.. @ home. I doubt we stop ronnie brown but hey, its at home. :)

Chargers not looking great this season but its a toss up.

Seahawks, not looking good, but its still a toss up..

Is it possible? Very much so. Is it probably, probably not. It is nice to dream. If we go 10-6, i still say we fry the fish.
