According to the “Experts”, Titans Draft Grade "D+"

Well hopefully we got our needs in the draft, Great pick on Chris speedy Johnson... Lendale tighten up you chin strap, cause is on and you better show in shape.

 

I don't think it was as bad as a D+....C- maybe. Oh well, we'll have to wait until the season starts to find out how the "experts" did.

 

Those same so called "experts" had DJax, Sweed and Thomas rated a whole round earlier than the real "experts", the guys who actually get make the picks had them rated.

How about Hawkins, a guy we drafted a whole round or better LATER than many of the "experts" had him rated (I like Hawkins more than Sweed).

Ratings right now mean nothing. We will know more after the season and even more in 3 years. At that point if these guys don't pan out I'll be ready to fire MR as much as anyone.

I’m probably more upset by the prolific misuse of the word “compliment” than I am about the draft.

If I say you’re wearing a pretty dress, that’s a compliment. If I’m adding something that makes things better, it’s a complement. Yet, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read where Chris Johnson will “compliment” Vince Young. Unbelievable.

As is the gnashing of teeth. I guess everybody wanted a 6’-5” All American WR in the first round. How about a kid who caught 95 passes for 1315 yards in a national championship season?

Oh wait a minute. We already have that guy. Mike Williams. Which should tell us all that there are no draft day guarantees.

At first glance Chris Johnson looks like a poor man’s Jamaal Charles for a helluva lot more money whereas Lavelle Hawkins looks like this year’s Chris Davis.

But… I’m not paid to be a talent scout so maybe I don’t know as much Cole Proctor.

I’m willing to give these new Titans the benefit of a doubt. Maybe Chris Johnson will provide that Ramonce Taylor element that complemented Vince so well at Texas.

That makes no sense, he gives Washington a C but says that getting Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly and Kellen Davis were steals given that they all had 1st round grades. I consider that a much better draft than us, when you can get value for your picks. He ranked us higher than Washington and Miami, this guy must be hanging with PacMan already.

 

Its's hard to give the daft a grade this early, but since we didnt address all our needs i would give it a C.

 

Tennessee Titans: GRADE: C
Running back Chris Johnson is a good player, but I wasn't expecting him to go to Tennessee, especially because the Titans need a wide receiver. (They should have looked at WR Devin Thomas in the first round.) They did get WR Lavelle Hawkins in the fourth round and Vince Young will like the former California wide receiver. Jason Jones can play DE or DT. I don't have a problem with the player they drafted on Day 1, but the philosophy is skewed. It was the third straight year Tennessee drafted a running back in the first two rounds. Craig Stevens is a good blocking tight end. William Hayes has good closing speed for a defensive end, but was a reach in the fourth round. Stanford Keglar was a good fourth-round pick with some ability, and seventh-rounder Cary Williams could make this team as a developmental cornerback.
