We went into this offseason with a big need for people for Vince to throw to and the best we've done to fix that this offseason is sign an aging TE, great job Reinfeldt :wall:

Gotta trust JJ was the guys the Titans wanted at 2.23, but I agree with the rabble that MRs inability to move up in the second cost the Titans a sure bust in whatever WR they would have selected there.

    Where is "easter" michigan?

Jones went to eastern michigan and played in the same conference as rothlisberger and moss. A lot of good players have come out of the MAC..

I think we are looking to get a fast WR, and it was too early to reach for the fast ones. That's what I'm thinking. But that is purely speculation. I don't recall Heimendinger wanting fast Wr's before. Mason was a shifty little receiver though, and I think he's looking for those type of players. Players who are fast and have return skills that translate to the field. There some of those WR's still out there. The two fastest left are Harry Douglas and Anthony Aldridge.

I like the Jones pick. Physically, he is Odom. Had a pretty good college career, even though he started out as a TE, and ended up shuffled along the D-Line due to personnel issues.

I feel pretty certain that we would have taken Sweed over Jones. Nonetheless, DE was a more glaring need than WR. He actually had impressive production at Eastern Michigan, although I didn't really have my eye on this guy going into today at all, I'll say. I don't know what to say about our 1st round selection. I was extremely disappointed to say the least. I feel like we could have easily traded back 10 picks and still gotten CJ if that is really who we just had to have. Why not trade up a spot or two and get one of the real nice rb's that were available? The only positive that I am taking out of our first round pick is that it is obvious that our GM is willing to admit a mistake when he sees it and take steps to rectify it. I hope he didn't make another mistake, though. =(

that just sounds comforting. Dude didn't even have many sacks last year, how many was it like 3? Stupid Pick once again. Twice.
