Talent Evaluation is difficult, I'm not saying that Wide Receiver should be the first pick, however... Just as many players from other positions haven't paid dividends.

Quite a few 1st Rounders, have played in the pro-bowl over that past 10 years, not the mention the few guys who have contributed to their teams but not made the pro-bowl yet.

Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Tory Holt, Larry Fitzgerald all seem to have paid off...

Then guys like Roy Williams, Andre Davis, David Bowe I think are great talents, but for whatever reason haven't quite been what they were projected to be. ( I maintain, you put them in better situation and watch out.)

Check out the drafts on Wikipedia, and go backwards in time, you will see that all positions have First Rounders that didn't necessarily live up to the first round billing.

I really enjoyed the comic book mini-series years ago, almost as much as I enjoyed the Watchmen, which is going to be made into a movie as well. There's a lot more room to screw up Watchmen, however, and it's very depressing overall, but a great story.

Glad you gave V a chance.

I am not sure he can/should even make the team, even against our bad wr core. We need to give vince some weapons, to me we are doing what we did with Mcnair, no weapons...............love the crumpler pick up, but johnson or hackett are better and Jmac is the same type guy we have plenty of. We need a 1 wr worse than anybody in the league, I would trade for roy williams now

I would too, if it were a good trade.

The Lions and Bengals have both stated that neither Roy Williams or Chad Johnson are up for trades. The Bengals said that Chad will be a Bengal no matter what and the Lions have said the same for Williams except if some team offers them something huge..... then maybe. So yeah ..... we are not getting either wideout.
Next year seems to be especially good for wr. Anquan Boldin will almost for sure be gone from Arizona. Braylon Edwards will have one more year and may be dealt considering the amount of money the Brownies have spent in recent seasons. Lee Evans may be available. A couple others i'm sure just not coming to mind now.

i'm concerned that if we don't surround Vince with weapons THIS year, we might be in the market for a new qb NEXT year

Still I doubt we draft a WR simply out of need in the 1st. Take the BPA and if he happens to be a WR fine.

Nope i agree we shouldn't draft a wideout on the first round, it looks like most wideouts in the first round take a long time to develop in to a # 1..
