Keep it up MR. Wow I'm really mad this doesn't make any sense just go after Bryant. Hackett is the next best option. And since we haven't signed anybody mine as well get Odom back instead of counting our money.

I rather get Vince 1-2 good WR's like 1 in the draft and 1 in FA. Than spend major money on just one.

I Have to agree. If we didn't get berrian or stallworth, we're not interested in johnson, havn't talked to hackett, walker doesn't want anything to do with us, and we don't want moss, then who else is there.

FYI: letting Alge out of town without a contract is not good sign.

I don't understand this organization. We spend the better part of 4 years in "Cap Hell" and then spend the next 2 years doing nothing, cause we don't want to "Overpay" for someone. Take a look around, the salary cap increase went up, so did salary expectations, call it inflation. I truely am tired of the "overpaying" arguement. I think its interesting that we are still in "cap hell", only that it is self inflicted. The definition of cap hell is the inability to sign FA and the inability to extend the contracts of people currently on your roster. Even though we have $$$ we don't sign FA, which is OK if we extend current player contracts, but we're not doing that either. And for some the answer is build through the draft, which is great, but when you don't have a great track record drafting what do you do. It does no good to build through the draft if we don't keep any of those drafted players past their rookie contracts. Odem is an example we start him and play him with his rookie skills, then as he starts to develope and become the guy we want him to be and we let him walk.

The way I see it we can:

a: Not overpay and loose the extra salary cap $$$ since it doesn't carry over

    b. Or we can overpay and improve our roster and at least use the money instead of losing it.

I know its early and things could happen, but really what is the plan for WR, im guessing its the draft, since we are not going after anyone left.

And I know many will disagree, but please respond with reasons other than "overpaying" its old

Johnsons been clocked at 4.37 in the 40 so he's got the speed we need. I just don't undersand why were not gonna make a play for him? What the hell has Buffalo got to offer him over us apart from more dollars?

i dont even think it would be more money. We have alot of cap, and I think we should spend it. I would agree that the cap has gone up, and so are the contracts... I think our FO has the old CBA deals in their head.

That being said, there will be cuts between now and the draft, and we might find someone there.

If Hackett is such a monster, he'd have been signed already. More likely ahead of Berrian or Stallworth. Fact is, he wasn't and still isn't signed. Whether he will be is another topic. There's a reason he hasn't had much activity. He's got plenty of potential and looked mighty good at times I've seen him, but the fact remains he's got the injury bug. Hackett=Yancey Thigpen II
