So you’re still missing the point.

We just agreed that the way the issue was discovered and the use to fire/suspend (your example)/ etc. is not a public opinion scenario. The league owned the information.

The entire complaint here is why was Gruden fired but clearly there are more examples, even more heinous incidents, that are just ignored or moderately slapped on the wrist?
It’s subjective based on who? And The subjectivity is the complaint.

So your take on the inconsistent, subjectively enforced, “rules” that aren’t really rules, at least for the public is that it’s a part of life outside in the real world.
So as stupid and weak as your attempt at an insult are, I guess t really doesn’t even make sense. If that’s just the way the world is, I suppose all the thin skinned folks that can’t handle these tough words need to “move out of their mama’s basement” and just accept that it’s usual.

They are certainly public opinion now. As to why the league went public, simply look at the content of the emails, and the litigation surrounding that investigation. This is about Allen as much as it is Gruden. It’s not rocket science.

And it is usual. The world doesn’t owe you fairness. Doesn’t owe Gruden fairness. Doesn’t owe Allen fairness. Certainly didn’t owe Ray Rice fairness.

I agree that it certainly seems more an issue with Allen, the redskins, maybe the NFL as a whole and Gruden is for sure just a scapegoat.

In general, we’re also in agreement on your second statement. Not one person is owed a damn thing including kind words. Now apply that to all situations equally.

As a US society we have written, very specific laws to follow. Public opinion is t one of them. Not that I agree with what all Gruden said, but Id rather the Raiders and NFL keep him just to say F U to the “public opinion” and remind them, they aren’t owed a thing. You don’t like it? Don’t watch.

I actually agree with most of what Gruden said and I say most of those words every week. I even say the same thing about Goodell. The difference is that I don’t say those things in emails to my coworkers and people I do business with, because I’m not a moron.

Dan Snyder is ready to set the earth on fire just to make sure Allen gets burned. The NFL is just trying to get on top of this before it gets too out of control. In a way of thinking, Gruden is being scaped, although those emails were going to come to light regardless. Sucks for him, but it’s also because of his own reckless behavior.

It is entirely possible that the Raiders don’t agree with the things he said and even if they don’t care, are concerned about the state of the locker room. I do agree, however, that companies have to start standing up to the social justice warriors.

Fully agree on that point about using the work email. People get very casual about forgetting they have user agreements. I have no doubt, some of what he said or did violated that agreement even 10 years ago.
My business does a much better job monitoring for this. No way it takes 10 years, you might even get notified within 10 minutes, almost always, your account is locked until investigation is complete. We require our computer usage for work too, so it’s a big deal.

Redskins as a whole are just a total s**tshow, even when the initial story broke like 1 year ago or more as Rivera as taking over.
Try as Snyder’s might to roll over on Allen, I’d have to think as owner, he gets wrapped up in this to some degree, if nothing else, for his ignorance to allow it to happen. I think details that will continue coming to light will keep painting that bad picture.

I don’t really agree with Gruden’s take on Sam but I don’t see that as fireable. I’ve also heard guys talk before, my self included, and called someone a f** or a h**o. I know the term has become offensive today in that it gets used as an insult and in that connotation, actual gay people can be offended. I try not to do it anymore, I’ll get s**tcanned if I do.
I think that context needs to be considered. Doesn’t make it right, but I mean a little leniency or at least warning before firing is more than reasonable. Plus, murderers get second chances in the nfl, that seems a little more concerning that words don’t get second chances.

But what did Gruden give the REAL court of opinion to work with? He just rolled over and gave a disingenuous apology like so many do. People have to use restraint and not cave into the pressure. He just needed to be himself. “Yep, I talk **** to my friends. I also build winning teams. I’m not resigning. I don’t apologize. If I get fired and you want to win ball games, give me a call”. That’s what he needed to say to take it away from the social justice warriors.

That would be a winning speech if he actually built winning teams. He doesn’t do that. So, the heart of that message is pretty empty.
