I think JRob also realized Mularkey hit his ceiling. I think Vrabel's ceiling is a super bowl, he just needs better coordinators. Which he's unwilling to get.

 

I remember getting sack after sack with that 08 defense. All we get now is some random pressure now and then. When Schwartz left to take the lions job, and Chuck Cecil took over, the defense has been sub-par since other than the occasional good game under Dean Pees.

Vrabel has already hit his ceiling.

 

I’ve reached my doubts that Vrabel does have that ceiling.
I think he’s good with the players which is important, but his D (it is absolutely his) will not get the job done.
The fact he pinned it on Bowen last year, sort of, then promoted him is exactly why Vrabel should absolutely be on the extremely hot seat.
