My head would agree with the move.

My heart would hate it. I like tanney, and Rodgers seems like a diva douche.

Well obviously lol I’m just saying it’s hard to point to many examples of a Super Bowl winning team having a top 5 paid QB. Doesn’t happen often.

We are not evaluating them as 22 year olds. One is 32 and the other is 26. What is so hard to understand about that?

One could have been retained without giving up draft picks. the other cost us a lot in draft capital.

You do not even understand the most basic elements involved here.

It's not the same contract the cap hit is the same. Corey's deal with the Jets was not expensive.

1 2nd this year and a swap of 4th for 6th next year is not “a lot” in draft capital.

jones at 32 is more valuable than Davis at 26.
Don’t see any argument to the contrary.

If we have to restructure to make room for Julio, then it doesn't matter. Someone has to restructure, which means someone is gonna get paid a lot more than they should over the next 1-2 years. The options were basically Tanne or some combination of two guys from Henry/Lewan/Saffold, since just restructuring one of those guys likely wouldn't free up enough money.

Personally, I'd rather pay Tanne near 40 million for the next couple of seasons than the guarantee Lewan or Saffold a bunch of money for the next 2 seasos. Lewan didn't perform like an elite tackle this year before his injury and while Saffold is a quality, he's 30 and can be replaced with someone cheaper.

I liked Davis but for the most part he’d shown nothing outside of his contract year last year and has his own history of injury. Give me the more proven receiver in Julio.

The 26 year old has been injured much more frequently and even when he's been healthy, has not come close to matching Julio's rate stats from 2020.

There's something to say about it being a less risky move, though with Davis' own injury issues, I don't think the risk is substantially less. But Julio should be quite a bit more productive than Davis.
