Rumor Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston?

Watson stays in Houston. He wasn’t going anywhere regardless of the scandal. Price was too high.

 

Based on what he is saying and most now believe him he will never play again if he stays in Houston. He appears dug in. They trade him for pennies now.

 

What a mess. Can’t trade him, doesn’t want to play for ya. We should feel fortunate

 

(NOTE- @Alzarius and I normally agree on a lot of issues and this is the first time I've found a post by him objectionable. Regardless, I have a lot of respect for him based off of his other posts and for efficiency won't quote it here.)

Not a backpedal from me at all:

First, my message has been consistent throughout this thread. Second, those quotes are: 1) paraphrased 2) selected from a post without quoting the post in its entirety and 3) purposefully omitted other posts that present the balance and reason for those poorly paraphrased statements.

Those poorly paraphrased statements were in response to the context of dialogue of a few posters that suggested the sheer volume of complaints PROVES Watson is guilty, that "home massueses" are ENTIRELY credible and there is no possibility that this could simply be a money making move by a plaintiff's attorney. Yes- I used inflammatory rhetoric, however, it was only equal in tone in response to some VERY biased statements by a few posters. Some even admitted their bias. I try to conduct my dialogue in a respectful manner regardless of a difference of opinion. I try to not misrepresent others statements to bolster my own. I've found a few posters very trying to this principle, so I'll respectfully bow out.

And finally, it appears I need to state a summary of my position so that the cheap debate tactic of misrepresentation doesn't tarnish my message.

Watson may or may not have committed the allegations. He and the plaintiffs are entitled to due process to determine the merit of the allegations. The plaintiff's identities are protected where as Watson's identity is not, so HE suffers financial damage whether or not a court judges these claims have merit. Watson's past good reputation has an influence on his present credibility. The plaintiff's credibility is not allowed to be discovered in the public forum, aside from their occupation. The "home masseuse" industry is full of honest hard working persons not interested in supplying sexual service. However, there ARE persons who work in the "home masseuse" industry that do indeed provide sexual services for hire. IMHO, Watson most likely incorrectly assumed all those that responded to solicitations on the internet would provide sexual services. Watson undoubtedly exercised poor judgement in how he approached his desire for sexual gratification as well as how he responded to the initial complaints presented to him. I believe in our judicial process and it will get sorted out to be as fair and equitable a process as it can be. We'll never know the true details of merit of the claims. The plaintiffs and especially their legal representation will make a LOT of money off of this entire affair, regardless of the legal outcome if they so choose (interviews, books, etc). Watson will LOSE a lot of money regardless of the legal outcome. If it determined he is "guilty" of ONE of these allegations, I want him to be punished. But not until then.

That's it. I'm out of this thread. If you respond, respond to the above summary and don't quote part of it, paraphrase it or quote me as something that I stated that I simply never said. I'm OK if this thread gets closed. I've found it revealing and polarizing. And honestly I'm just fatigued of folks b!tching about their differences rather than celebrating what we have in common.

 

I second the opinion to shut this down. There is nothing new shared from day to day and civility has been replaced by... something else. When something moves this case forward happy to revisit, but this thread is clearly bringing out the worst in us.

2 in 1 day. This was the day after the OT loss to our Titans.

He was clearly triggered by that loss.

 

Looks like the first one said no, so he called in another and she said no also. He really had a bad day.

I’m pretty neutral on this topic. Definitely in the camp of let’s see how it plays out before casting judgement. Because there are definitely people who want to make a buck off famous people but there are also famous people who take advantage of their social status. This certainly seems out of character for DW but I don’t know him personally. Plenty of @$$holes seem like nice people to general public (Bill Cosby).

However, it is obvious that you feel like you are being misinterpreted (which may be true) but yet you are turning around an misinterpreting other posters. Don’t recall anyone saying every single home masseuse is a legit business.- just saying it’s more legit than some tend to think. Kinda hard to have a productive conversation when that’s happening.

Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it. I’m just saying multiple posters quoted you after making those comments and it sure seems like a vastly different approach than your last take on the situation. Maybe you’re being misinterpreted but maybe that’s because you could have done a better job of explaining your stance? Not trying to ruffle feathers just sharing my viewpoint on it.
