Byard a June 1 cap casualty?

Byard did get blown out a couple of times last year. But when a qb has 10 seconds to throw the ball that'll happen. From what I remember he was always 2 3 yards out of his receiver ready for the tackle. Also he had stellar season the year before so qbs would've been reluctant to throw into his coverage.

So what I'm trying to say is fix the ****ing pass rush.

of the other cuts at least SOME player was on the roster to replace the cut.
Byard had a down year but was absolutely earning his future paychecks the years prior.
Keep him, pay the money, allow the defense to get better.

 

We don’t need to get any weaker in the secondary Byard had a bad year last year but it’d be dumb to cut him!

 

We save absolutely nothing cutting him. The dead CAP is actually 2 mil more than we save. We would save some cash but I'm not sure that is the objective. The way he has been playing he is probably over paid right now but not in a position to cut him. Actually the only option would be to extend him a year or so pushing is $11 mil base across the rest of the contract to save money this year.

 

Nah I give Byard a pass. Be bad year doesn’t erase the previous 4. Only 27 still has plenty of elite football left.

 

He has been pretty dang good 3 out of 4 years. Yes last year was down, but I dont blame him when the entire defense was awful and almost every player on the defense "regressed".
