I think we had a very poor off season, but he is correct that Fulton and Evans will be very good players for us. It was injuries not COVID that impacted those two. Players who get injured isn’t the GM’s fault. Wake, Beasley, and Wilson are certainly at his doorstep.

Yeah Lake Underwood got fired after JRob’s first season and the dud Dodd pick at #33. Somebody in scouting is going to be axed. But JRob better do better this year. He knows it.

You can’t rationalize off of “potential” performances from injury recovery. You have to call the personnel decisions for what they were. They didn’t contribute.

The non-rationalization way to evaluate the GM was the JRob DID do a reasonably good job bringing in UDFA’s, practice squad players etc to fill the gaps that were left by decisions that didn’t produce.

I believe numerous scouts were replaced after the Dodd draft.

Nope, the ENTIRE draft is based off future performance. Has to be since none of these young bucks have played a down of pro ball. Injuries, post draft are not predictable and the gauge you are measuring with is not rational. They did not contribute last year, but the reality is, they have more than last year to prove their worth and contribute. They have 3 year contracts, so far, they have not held up 1/3 of their contractual value due to injuries. If they wind up giving us 2/3 of their contractual value as 2nd and 3rd rounders, then they were a success. I get the disappointment in JR, I feel it too. I think he has assumed an arrogance over the course of his tenure and at times gets too cute with picks. But injuries are a part of the game and unless you drafted a guy who was injured, don’t think you can lay they at any GM’s feet.

Just out of curiosity, how many TB Bucs were picks of JRob?

Since we're giving the 3 yr thing on rookies
