It's probably going to be a few years before the world starts to go back to normal. States and countries may "Open" their economy but that does not mean business as usual. Mean, travel bans will be lifted, you can go out to eat and go back to work, but there will be stricter health guidelines, some degree of social distance requirements and it could be a while before big crowds return. Have 70,000 people in a stadium breathing on each other is probably not a good idea.

Major sports playing in empty stadiums is not unheard of. It has happened in major soccer leagues in Europe when fans have been acting up too much.

    Some thoughts:
    • I could see the greedy NFL try to sell some kind of "Stadium experience" TV package where you can only view one camera and get no commentary. Then charge $90 a game for it :sarcasm:
    • It could be an opportunity for NFL though to have some fun with it. Play some games in HS stadiums, practice facilities, parks, etc. It would be better than looking at empty seats
    • Indoor stadiums would be particularly problematic. You are better off outside, and in the sun, to reduce the risk of airborne disease

Not a problem. Given the size of an NFL field they could play on the median of an interstate highway.

The lion’s share of NFL revenue comes from tv contracts. Game tickets, parking, souvenirs/programs and food are no loose change. The individual owners will take the hit. If tickets average $100 times 50,000, that five million there; adding all the other things and it adds up, times 16 games per week.......

Wasn’t a Senator quoted as saying, “a billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you’re talking real money.”

It only makes sense that the Titans start finally looking like legit contenders for the world around to collapse and change up the game, even a little bit.

no crowd probably means improvement for “home field advantage” titans, chargers, rams, dolphins, bucs, and more.
Probably hurts KC, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and a few others.

One fan for each team in the stadium sitting in the tenth row behind that team’s bench.

The NFL could get away with empty stadiums. college football I don’t think would be the same without fans.

Wonder if they will allow crowd simulated noise now or would that still be considered an offense punishable by fine?!? Lol

I hope they don't try virtual fan crap like they did during the draft.. that has zero appeal and gets exactly zero people excited

It wouldn’t be...but getting TV money is better than not getting it.
