Draft Network Mock Drafts

Exactly what i was thinking.

 

I wouldn't be mad at that draft at all...i doubt we draft OL before CB, but hey you never know. 2 more days

 

This is my final mock before the draft Thursday. I believe this is the most realistic mock I've made to this point.



With our first pick, we had a lot of guys we liked on the board. We felt confident that we'd be able to trade down and still be able to get one of our guys. We also really liked the depth in this draft, so when the Chargers decided they wanted to move up for their QB, we felt it was a perfect opportunity for us.

We were lucky to have our guy still sitting there at 37. Ross Blacklock is a great football player, and his personality is a perfect fit for what we're trying to build here. We liked Jordan Elliot here too, but Blacklock has a certain level of ferocity that you don't see every day. That along with his athleticism, size, technique and professionalism are all reasons why we're extremely excited about this pick. He and Jeffrey Simmons will wreak havoc together for a long time.

We feel ike we got our guy at pick 61 as well. We knew there would be some corners sitting here seeing that the draft was extremely deep at the position. When Damon Arnette was still here, we were elated. We watched alot of ohio state tape, and this guy is just an extremely impressive football player. His coverage skills are some of the best in this draft. His 4.57 40 is a bad reflection of his on-field speed. He can tackle, and he's tough as nails(played most last season through a wrist injury). He's also got pretty good size at 6 ft 195 lbs. We also liked Cam Dantlzer and Amik Robertson here. Dantzler went off the board right before our pick. We liked Robertson ALOT, but we feel Arnette was just a better fit here for what our team needs right now. A bigger corner who can play inside or out.

At pick 93 Cam Akers kind of just fell in our lap. We had a feeling one of our top RBs could fall here, and when he did we couldn't have been happier. He's a do it all kind of RB that could not only be a perfect compliment to Derrick, but could also carry the load on his own if asked to do so. We considered going OT here, but we couldn't pass on Cam. We were also very intrigued by Antonio Gibson, but we think Cam is a better fit and better all around RB.

Pick 112(via LAC). We once again were looking at OT, but Brycen Hopkins was the highest guy on the board. Everyone knows his family's history with our organization. He also fills a need, so we felt really good about this pick. He's actually been training in Nashville with his dad on run blocking and Derrick Mason on catching. So take that for what its worth. We thought this pick was meant to be. Couldn't ask for more from a luxury pick we shouldn't have even had in the first place.

At pick 174, Kindle Vildor, again, was just too good to pass up. We need as many good corners as we can get. KC and baltimore aren't getting worse at passing the ball anytime soon. We neglected OT again, but we feel like the linemen at this point in the draft just wouldn't have much of an impact on our team. We feel like Kindle can fight for playing time immediately as a dime corner.

Quez Watkins - Pick 186(via LAC)was an easy one for us. We knew a WR would fall in this draft seeing that it's one of the deepest wr classes weve seen in a long time. We were keeping an eye on Watkins, Mooney, Proche, and Dunervay. When Dunervay came off the board right before our pick, we knew it was time to take Quez. 2nd fastest wr in the draft. 6 foot tall. Great production at southern miss. Couldn't be happier with this pick. Our offense and special teams needs a guy like this who will make the opposing team have to consider him in their gameplan.

The rest of the picks were BPA at positions of needs. Guys we think can potentially make this team and produce for us one day. QB and OT will be our first order of business when we look for UDFAs.

We feel really, really good about this draft.
