30 Greatest Titans Players 1999-2019

With everything going on in the world right now and a lot of folks having more free time i thought it would be cool to go back over the last 20 years of Titans history from the beginning in 1999 through the most recent season in 2019 and list the 30 greatest Titans players and also the 30 greatest Titans games.

I put a lot of thought into both lists.



30 Greatest Titans Players 1999-2019

#30: P Brett Kern: Kern has punted for 11 years for Titans since 2009 and has 8 seasons in the top ten for yards per punt as well as making it to the last 3 NFL Pro Bowls.



#29: Dyson Bros: Andre had 16 INT,59 passes defended,3 forced fumbles and TD from '01-'04,Kevin had 176 catches for 2,310 yds & 18 TD's '99-'02 had winning TD during Music City Miracle.First brothers in NFL history to score TDs in same game



#28: WR Drew Bennett: Bennett was WR 2001 to 2006 catching 273 passes for 4033 yards & 25 TD's. Bennett caught a game winning 23 yd TD pass from QB Steve McNair at Houston in Dec. 2003 to clinch the Titans fourth playoff berth in five years



#27: CB Jason McCourty: Jason played CB for 8 years from 2009 to 2016 and had 13 INT for 99 yds along with 73 passes defended. Also 6 forced fumbles along with 5 recoveries for 2 TD's. 419 tackles as well with 12 for losses.



#26: RT David Stewart: Became a Titan in 2005. He played for nine years playing in 116 games here anchoring the line with Michael Roos. One of the best right tackles in Titans history.



#25: LT Brad Hopkins: Played left tackle for the Titans from 1999-2005 for 7 years and before that with the Oilers. He played in 101 reg games and 9 playoff games going to 2 pro bowls in 2000 and 2003.



#24: S Michael Griffin: Played safety for the Titans for 9 years from 2007-2015 and played in 154 games missing just 3 games during his career. He had 25 INT,11 forced fumbles with 6 recoveries along with 605 tackles and 7 sacks.



#23: C Kevin Mawae: Played center for the Titans for 4 years from 2006-2009 and played in 61 games also making 2 Pro Bowls in 2008 and 2009 also in Pro Football Hall of Fame, Blocked for Chris Johnson during his 2009 2000 yard season.



#22: K Rob Bironas: Bironas kicked FG for Titans for 9 years 2005-2013 in 144 games making 86% or 239 of 279 FG and 99% of extra points 315 of 317 and scored 1032 points. Made Pro Bowl in 2007. Kicked 60yd game winner to win vs Colts in 2006.



#21: LT Michael Roos: Played left tackle for Titans for 10 years 2005-2014 playing in 148 games and making it to the Pro Bowl in 2008. Blocked for RB Chris Johnson in 2009 during his 2000 yard season.



#20: LT Taylor Lewan: Played left tackle for Titans for 6 years 2014-2019 playing in 85 games so far and making it to the Pro Bowl 3 times in '16,'17 & '18. He has made the NFL Top 100 players 3 years in a row '17,'18 & '19.



#19: S Chris Hope: Hope played safety for Titans for 6 years 2006-2011 playing in 85 games making 16 INT,2 forced fumbles and 5 recoveries,366 tackles,4 sacks and 1 TD.



#18: WR Nate Washington: Played wide receiver for Titans for 6 years 2009-2014 playing in 96 games catching 307 passes for 4591 yards and 28 TD's.



#17: S Kevin Byard: Byard has played safety for Titans for 4 years since 2016 playing in 64 games and starting 55 making 17 INT,2 fumble recoveries,3 sacks. Led NFL with 8 INT in '17 and made Pro Bowl.



#16: CB Cortland Finnegan: Played cornerback for Titans for 6 years from 2006-2011 playing in 93 games and starting 79 making 14 INT and 3TD,5 fumble recoveries with 1TD,6 sacks. Made Pro Bowl in 2008....



#15: QB Marcus Mariota: Mariota played quarterback for Titans 5 years from 2015-2019 playing in 63 games throwing 76 TD for 13,207 yards. 12 game winning drives,10 4th quarter comebacks and led Titans to 3 straight winning seasons & playoff win at KC.



#14: QB Vince Young: Young played quarterback for Titans 5 years from 2006-2010 playing in 54 games throwing 42 TD for 8098 yards. 12 game winning drives,7 4th quarter comebacks. Led Titans to 30 wins also made 2 Pro Bowls and was '06 NFL OROY.



#13: DT Kyle Vanden Bosch: Vanden Bosch played defensive end for Titans for 5 years from 2005-2009 playing in 74 games making 188 tackles,38.5 sacks,47 tackles for losses as well as 14 forced fumbles and 3 recoveries. Made 3 Pro Bowls as Titan.



#12: CB Samari Rolle: Rolle played cornerback for Titans 6 years from 1999-2004 playing in 85 games w' 255 tackles,23 INT for 1TD,8.5 sacks,8 fumble recoveries,1 TD,1 Pro Bowl in 2000



#11: TE Delanie Walker: Walker played tight end for Titans for 7 years 2013-2019 playing in 84 games catching 381 passes for 4423 yards and 28 TD's making 3 Pro Bowls in '15,'16 & '17.



#10: RB Derrick Henry: Henry has played RB in 62 games since '16 for Titans carrying 804 times for 3833 yards and 38 TD's avg nearly 5 yards per carry. Had 99 yard run vs Jax longest NFL run ever. Led Titans to AFC Title game in '19



#9: DT Jurrell Casey: Casey played defensive tackle for Titans for 9 years from 2011-2019 playing in 139 games making 325 tackles,51 sacks,84 tackles for losses as well as 8 forced fumbles and 5 recoveries. Made 5 Pro Bowls as Titan.



#8: LB Keith Bulluck 'Mr Monday Night': Bulluck played linebacker for Titans 10 years from 2000-2009,157 games w' 811 tackles,21 INT for 1TD,8.5 sacks,61 tackles for losses,15 forced fumbles 13 recoveries,4 TD,1 Pro Bowl. 3 INT on MNF vs Brees NO '07



#7:Tied TE Frank Wycheck: Played tight end for Titans for 5 years '99 -'03 playing in 73 games catching 256 passes for 2460 yards and 14 TD's making 2 Pro Bowls. Also a key player in Music City Miracle play vs. Buffalo in AFC 2000 playoffs.



#7:Tied G Bruce Matthews: Played the majority of his 19 year career with the Oilers but he did play 3 strong years ‘99,’00,’01 on the offensive line to close out his career with the Titans making three Pro Bowls.



#6: WR Derrick Mason: Played wide receiver for Titans for 6 years '99-'04 playing in 90 games catching 455 passes for 5595 yards & 34 TD's making 2 Pro Bowls. Kick/Punt Returner with 1590 yds,2TD on punt returns & 3500 yds,1TD on kick returns.



#5: DE Jevon Kearse: Played defensive end for Titans for 7 years '99-'03 & '08-'09 playing in 88 games making 171 tackles,52 sacks,56 tackles for losses as well as 22 forced fumbles and 1INT. Made 3 Pro Bowls as Titan. 1999 DROY



#4: DT Albert Haynesworth: Played defensive tackle for Titans 7 years '02-'08 playing 90 games with 200 tackles,25 sacks,60 tackles for losses,6 forced fumbles & 4 recoveries. Made 2 Pro Bowls. First NFL DT ever to get 100 million contract in '09.



#3: RB Chris Johnson: Played running back for 95 games straight with Titans missing no games his entire 6 year career 2008-2013 in Tennessee. Had 7965 yards and 50 TD's smashing numerous NFL records gained 2000 yds running & 2509 total yds the most all time in '09. 3 Pro Bowls & OPOY '09.



#2: RB Eddie George: Played running back in 80 games with Titans from '99-'03 gaining 5,950 yds & 40 TD's. He was a key part of the Titans being #1 in wins from '99-'03 with 56 wins. Also 9 playoff games inc. 2 AFC Title & 1 Super Bowl.



#1: QB Steve McNair: McNair played QB for Titans from '99-'05 playing in 92 games with 118 TD for around 18000 yards. 15 game winning drives,10 4th qtr comebacks. 3 Pro Bowls & NFL MVP '03. Led Titans to numerous playoff wins & Super Bowl app.



Special Considerations for: Blaine 'Hitman' Bishop,Marcus Robertson and Neil O'Donnell

 

Yeah he is a damn good punter.

Kern and Bironas both deserved to be in the top 30 Titans

They were and are among the best at the their positions and both put in a decade or more.
