Our line has gotten way worse and so has the defense and depth at wr. Our defense was already trash last year and we've done nothing except lose key players and our d coordinator

Saying the defense was trash last year is a considerable overstatement.

I disagree that our line has gotten way worse. I think Kelly is only a slight downgrade from Conklin (WHEN Conklin plaid his best, remember how inconsistent he’s been over the years) and Nate Davis will be a year more experienced. Add to that a likely high pick this year and we should be fine there.

As for defense, losing Casey was massive, but until I see what the plan is there, the verdict is still out. Beasley COULD be a huge upgrade over Wake/Correa.

Yeah we lost Tajae but good for him. I’m happy he gets to go to a place where he can be a starter. This is one of the deepest WR drafts in history so I’m sure we can find a capable replacement for our 4th WR.

It is a silly question. Wait until after the last pre-season game and they announce the roster, then compare.

I agree that we don't know what the team will be like coming into the season, but of course, a message board is a place to discuss and speculate.

Adding to the unknowns prior to the draft in any year, we this year have the uncertainty due to COVID-19. Will it impact the NFL season? I sure as heck do not know.

Is it starting to sink in that JR chose Daquon Jones over Titans legend Jurrell Casey to save...drumroll....3 million dollars. Well, it is for me..

I haven't doubted JR since he's been here, but this move has me truly wondering if JR is the savior we all thought he was.... everyone knows im usually against negative thinking when it comes to stuff like this, but it is truly difficult not to look at this move and wonder ,"what in the actually *** is going on"?

In my opinion, it doesn't really matter "what the plan is". Never, not in a million years, should Casey have been let go over D Jones to save a measely 3 million in cap. We will find out alot about the future of our organization this year...stay tuned. Id love to eat my words, and Daquon come out and have a Casey-like impact for us this year, but cmon...we all know that's not happening...if anyone can enlighten me or make me feel better about this situation please, feel free.

If you want my opinion, I think JR got in over his head this offseason...he didn't know what to do with everything that needed to be done.. he had to do something though...those somethings included WAY overpaying a 1 hit wonder qb. This led to the irrational decision to trade our best defensive lineman and team captain Jurrell Casey In favor of Daquon Trashbag Jones.

Anyways, quarantine got me deep in my feels today i guess....stay safe out there friends. :anon:

I'm guessing JR based this on Casey being near the end of his career, playing at a high level....Team decided to move on. Time will have all the answers if this was the right decision.

Casey was still making HUGE plays for us in HUGE moments all the way up until his last game in a titans jersey. Something none of us will ever say about D Jones....Ever...i hope that 3 million was worth it JR.

3 mil in cap can go a long way but also wasn’t this whole site praising Jones this offseason?
As players get older, gotta make business decisions. Sometimes you get burned, sometimes it pays off.
If Casey has a monster year for Denver, JRob was wrong for at least a year.
If Jones has a good year or Casey doesn’t, JRob was right. We’d also have to consider the use of the additional 3 mil.

Pretty much every time Casey made a play, it was from Jones winning his matchup and/or eating a block or 2.

So Jones is cheaper (giving you less cap mobility), younger, and arguably plays a role that is tougher to fill.
