This is where I'm at. I've always thought he was overrated. That said, it's not my money, and JR cleared out cap space by shipping Casey out for peanuts, so might as well use it for something. 2 years of Clowney, while we draft and groom his replacement, isn't bad and helps this team.

So the uncertainty continues and today, it's the Colts looking as the favorites. Yesterday, it was the Titans? Who will it be tomorrow?

I was warming up to seeing Clowney as a Titan, but the cost figures to be very high. I have to wonder where $20MM per season over the next two years will go if not to Clowney. Clearly it could help solve another need or two.

Of course, all this is haze is compounded by the COVID-19 situation that is leaving us all wondering what tomorrow will bring. I just hope things settle out in time to allow the NFL season to go on schedule.

I don’t know what to make of it - sounded MONDAY like it done pending a physical, then league says no physicals should be done. That’s crazy because Ortho docs aren’t in the Covid-19 response pool. Late talk of Colts with slightly better contract offer than ours most likely holding things up.

Casey (his contract) being traded for peanuts understandable but big egg on FO face if we don’t land Clowney. Sounds like Clowney dikkin us around. I’m not a big fan of his anyway but I do want him on a short term contract. He’d def bring good play on that situation. Worst thing is sign him to a long term contract with his injury history and how he disappears at times.

We need help rushing the QB, Clowney isnt known for that. Why pay a guy in the 20mil area who isnt going to change what we need to change?

He is fast and disruptive even if he doesn't get the sack himself. That was sorely missing against KC. Disruption of the QB is a big deal and will be huge in our division with Rivers now in the mix.

I don't know man. When he's on, he's on. And on a short term contract, he'll be playing for his next contract. Like to see him and VB competing for the next big contract. And Landry right in there as well. Be pretty sweet to have that kind of edge pressure with Simmons disrupting. Make it a lot easier on our depleted CB's.

Hes double teamed at one of the highest rates in the league. If he doesnt make the play he makes it easier for Landy, Vic, or Simmons to make it.

It doesn’t appear we are going to do much of anything impactful at this point. Not sure Clowney is the answer at the money he seems to be holding out for, but this defense which was overachieving last year has gotten worse sonunless JRob is baking on the draft to make a difference we’ve taken a step back at this point based on what we’ve done so far (and we don’t know what’s going on with Ryan as yet)

    And thats what we need

Hes pricey but we cant seem to get pressure from either side consistently.

Cant put a price on that
