I've requested an extension until May (after draft) for the past 8 years or more. They've been very conciliatory and allowed me to do that. I'm wondering if that will continue if season ticket demand bumps significantly.

I think many assume we run to establish the pass, that’s not really what we do when the o is rolling. If you look at Henry stats, and Titans wins. We do a mix, build up a lead into the 3rd and 4th quarters then use BDH to kill the clock. When we have to reley more on tanny and the passing game we are usually behind and playing catch-up. Our O does better when we control the ball, clock, and use BDH late in the games...when statically he is dominate.

I honestly trust this GM and coach to build a winner. If they won’t pay Henry huge money, I can live with that. Right now not paying him would be the harder thing to do and that tells me they have a plan for running this team and they won’t be swayed by fan pressure. That is a good thing. If they do give him the big contract, I trust they have the space to do it and still be successful. I can live with it. The same on Tannehill. I think they need to sign him. But if they go another direction because they think it is unwise to commit so much to him on such a small sample size, I get that too.

What I care about more than anything is a well run organization that is wise and not knee jerk in their decisions. That is a receipt for long term success. I hope that is what we have in JRob and Vrabel, and I see evidence that makes me think we do. So I trust them on whether or not we should sign these guys to long term deals. They have far more info than I do.

We would save money tagging Henry, but Tannehill should sign a deal well below the QB tag amount of 26M.

Below? Maybe. Well below? Not. He won't get less than Nick Foles 22 mil a year and after the season he had, especially if Jameis is gonna get 20-30, no reason why a team wouldn't give him 25+ per year. I say tag him for 26 and see if we can get the same production out of him that we got this year.

Sheesh, I cant imagine paying him over 22M. You really think teams are going to make him a top 10 paid QB with this sample size? Maybe they will, and if that's the case I agree we tag him. I wouldnt sign him long term for more than 22M.

    Yea, good point.
Foles winning the super bowl MVP pretty much guaranteed him a pay day and Jimmy had only shown a few games but they were all very good.

Tannehill has a 7 year history of being average and hurt (albeit on a terrible team) and half a season of being great.
