The Titans as an organization should strike while the iron is hot. They have the chance to re-engage with their fan base and thus increase ticket sales. They have the chance to build their corporate sponsorship. Their is an energy in town around the team now.....the Titans need to take advantage of that...and from a long term standpoint they need to really engage in serious talks about stadium renovation....the Super Bowl is being played in a stadium that AAS has specifically mentioned as a model of her vision for stadium renovation...

I think the Titans need to be pro-active and not let the Tannehill and Henry contract negotiations drag on...show the fans you are serious about winning and show the other Titans players and other players/FAs that we mean business and are a place you want to be. Once you get those 2 guys under contract then the Titans can go ahead and start marketing to the fans and corporations to build more support while everyone is excited and while the Predators are down. I really think timing of things is important to take advantage of the momentum that the team built since Tanny/Henry put the team on their backs and started winning.....a positive vibe around the team and talk of stadium renovation will only help to attract FAs.

So JRob get those contracts done and continue building for the future SB run.

The NFL has proven time and time again that what worked one year is far from guaranteed to work again.

Ask the Rams how giving Todd Gurley and Jared Goff huge money is going.

Being committed to winning means carefully considering your options and making the best possible decision for the future, not rushing to sign your players just because you finally had a hint of success.

Going by memory, Season Ticket Holders will get their request to purchase 2020 in early March. I'll be among many who won't be doing squat until I see how things shake out with Tanny, Henry and others.

I agree with you in part. Scheme based success is cyclical. Talent and coaching is continually successful.

So the question is, was the success this year based on scheme or talent and coaching?

If you think Henry and Tannehill can only be successful in this scheme, then your hesitation is valid. I think either one could be used in different schemes successfully.

Talent at QB is hard to obtain.

Talent at RB is arguably easier to a point.

If the organization loses one or both of them this year it's tougher to replace with our draft position. We're pretty much forced to look at FA to fill voids. The question there is can we really get a better deal for one or both in FA?

IMO, you tag them and you lose three times.

    1. It is probably cheaper to sign them prior to tagging.
    2. Tagging is usually a precursor to the organization giving up and looking for a trade.
    3. It sends a pretty clear message to the rest of the team and FA about the kind of organization you'll be dealing with.

In short, if you don't have a specific plan I think it's better to sign now.

With this being probably the only year to use 2 tags, I'm not opposed to tagging both at all. I also wouldn't be opposed to an extension for both, but if we could get Henry for the tag of 10 million bucks this year and he's willing to sign it, why not? Also, if Tanny is willing to sign it, why not see if we could get the same production next season? It'd be the same price as his long term or about that

I know we haven't seen FA or the Draft but I personally think we topped out talent wise. This offseason feels more like damage control for some reason. We're merely trying not to lose guys which will eat up all our FA cap room. We pick at the bottom of the 1st so the biggest impact guys will likely be gone as well. Not that there aren't gems here and there but still..
