Personally, I really would love to give Tannehill a 3 year deal then evaluate him at the end of that contract before going for more. I think it is unlikely though. He has proven to be a top half of the league QB, so atleast 15 teams would improve with Tannehill as QB. Someone will offer him a solid 4+ year contract.

Seriously doubt Lawrence is in our future. He is going to go to whichever team is willing to tank for him. We are too close to the top to go into tank mode. We are going to have to find a gem in the draft.

I would take Tannehill over Rivers hands down. There is a lot to be said about both Brady and Brees, but I dont think Brady is going to be any better than Tannehill at this point of his career.

If we end up with Lawrence, next season will have been a colossal failure.

I would be totally willing to let both Henry and Tannehill go if the price is not right.

A QB who suddenly broke out at age 31 and a RB who just had 400+ touches are exactly the type of player who are likely to get worse in the coming years. I don't want to pay top dollar for a player headed in the wrong direction.

Ya, the 5-11 seasons weren’t that bad. We knew that we had to suffer through some rough years until our QBs developed. It sure was fun enjoying those seasons after VY, Locker, and Mariota developed though.

I dont know if I actually buy into the suddenly broke out theme. I never watched the Dolphins, had no interest, so I really dont know anything other than stats. As far as stats go, it sure looks like Tannehill has had potential all along. I have to wonder how much he was effected by being stuck on a team like the Dolphins.

I think the dolphins OL was worse than ours so THill was throwing like he had a ton of time in the pocket comparatively. Our OL still allows a lot of sacks but as the season progressed they also improved and seemed like they were getting on the same page better.

The blitzes (even very obvious) is still a blocking nightmare.

I think with a full offseason together, including Henry and the OL, this offense should be able to Improve. I’m hoping not JRob resigns just about everyone.

I'd stick with Tannehill over Rivers as well but Brady even at 42 is an elite QB...for a 2 year deal I would definitely take him. His experience and uncanny ability to read defenses is what makes him so great. Just 3 years ago at 39 he won the MVP...he is an upgrade and would make our receivers much better. If we get to the Super Bowl in 2 years then it's definitely worth it. I think what Tannehill did was incredible and I think he can recreate it but he's no Tom Brady. Brady threw for 4000 yards! When's the last time we had a qb throw for even 3000 yards?? We would need to invest in a solid back up in case he goes down. I think Andy Dalton should be an option for that role.

If we want the 1st overall pick in 2021, signing a future hall of fame QB is probably not the right way to make that happen.

His passer rating, 117.5, was the league’s best. He averaged 9.59 yards per attempt--a full yard better than any other qualifying quarterback. No quarterback in NFL history has ever finished with such a high combination of those two numbers. - He Was on the Scrapheap. Then He Became the NFL’s Most Efficient Quarterback.

This is almost the dictionary definition of breaking out.

Either Tannehill needed to leave Miami to prove that he's the best QB in the entire NFL, or he is a guy who got really hot for half the regular season (and it's probably already over, considering how he played in the playoffs).

We've seen guys get hot before. Nick Foles won a f'ing Super Bowl. Years before that, he set the record for most TD passes in a single game. But in between those two hot streaks, he was generally a below-average QB. Some guys just get hot.

I think Tannehill is probably the best option the Titans have and he should be re-signed. I'm not out here saying he sucks or anything. I think he's probably better than we saw in Miami but not as good as we saw in 2019 - and I think he's probably good enough to win a Super Bowl if the pieces around him are all great.

But the Titans are going to have to pay $100 million+ because of what he did in 2019 and he might go back to being what he was in Miami, which is something way less than a $100-million player.

It's a risky place to be. Foolish to think otherwise.

Foles is not a good comparison at all.
Being part of a winning team is not “hot”. Foles wasn’t tearing up other teams during his SB run. THill was leading the league.

Foles’s first run with Chip Kelly was amazingly “hot” with a 27:2 TD:INT ratio.
He proved it was only a hot streak the next year where he played just well enough to be let go in FA for him to fail in STL.

I don’t expect THill to be league leader next year but he showed more than just being on a hot streak. He’s worth the contract.

Even more to the point is considering the alternative to not signing him.
The 40+ club Brady/Rivers? (Still just as expensive I’m sure)
Cast offs like Newton or Winston?
    Resign Mariota? (Complete joke)
Draft? We have a good track record of developing QBs. (Joking)
