I see what you're saying. But I think there is a reason teams don't play two QB's at the same time. It's not like the defense is just gonna forget Tannehill is a QB, or start thinking he suddenly has Tyreek Hill speed when he lines up out wide.

The "trick play" aspect doesn't seem like much of a trick. Only one guy can throw down field... And they know who the two QB's are.

Idk. I guess I'll eat my words when they score a 40 yard TD out of this formation.

I sort of agree which is why I always hated wildcat but I think the argument is IF we are going to run this gimmick play (and only 1-2 times I imagine) THill can still play the role of QB on a throw back but with history as a WR, I would say can run a route. Davis and Brown would still be on the play so it’s not like THill is the only target but is a legit target. Mariota wouldn’t be.

Overall, the titans agree that THill should just take the snap and throw. That’s why 99% of the pass plays (mostly 100%) are standard snaps to THill.

And not that we lined him up a T. That he was ever drafted, ever lined up at any position, or specifically lining him at T.

folks last time I checked Marcus Mariota is still on this team the man has talents besides being able to throw the ball when he is on the field chances are he is the fastest out there ,, Marcus and Derrick had some real good plays last year. If the titans can add twists to make other teams have to think im for it what better way to keep you back up QB sharp . How about a super bowl team has 2 Qbs with 50 yard td passes and a running back with another. The idea isn't we care how we score just that we do ,,,, remember the saints trying it on us and there guy no where as near as fast as Marcus

 

As much as I hate super bowl 40, Pittsburgh got a 75 yard run by willie Parker, a pass from randle el to ward, and a BS TD that Ben never actually got in on.

That was an ugly game and the Steelers did the trick gadget plays/bare minimum/payed off the refs to win.

 

I can agree (not strongly) with everything except for the "chances are he is the fastest out there"...

yes Mariota is pretty quick, especially for a qb, but I doubt he is ever the fastest person on the field.
