I'm all for Mariota going out there to run some RPO stuff here and there. That's his thing.

I don't think both of them being on the field at the same time makes any sense. Mariota is a QB. He runs and moves like a QB. I don't think anyone is ever going to look at him like a wildcat threat, and having two QB's on the field while we actually have threats at WR for once is dumb.

But the point is that he could throw to THill for him to throw again. I don’t see Davis, brown, or if hump is back, that they throw all that well.

That’s all part of the set up of having 2 QBs.

I think you don't fool anyone with MM taking a snap and RT out wide. He's either going to pull back and take the bckward pass so he can throw the bomb, or he's going to run a route. Unless we are confident he can run an excellent route to burn one of the safeties, it's not worth it. Yeah... it's just not worth it.

 

You just explained they need to keep a safety focused on him which takes a player away from a Henry handoff or at least off another receiving target.

It also keeps the LB still to figure out pass or run. Similar to play action and against a zone D, could leave a target open

 

It is almost unbelievable that a guy who has dedicated his whole life 2 being in shape is as bad an athlete he is. Im 30 and haven't worked out in 15 years more than a random day here and there and I could make him look like a toddler.

Thats not even including my excessive drinking.
