When I had PSL's, and sat next to GoT we would begin EVERY game (regardless of who the Titans were playing) with a PITTSBURGH STEELERS SUCK chant....at first the section was like, "what's going on" eventually many would follow along.

    no he wasn’t.

When refs feel a penalty is there, that’s the first thing they do is drop the flag. They don’t wait to break up fights.

Even more, Garrett wasn’t “laying on top of him”. Rudolph was grabbing his helmet to pull it off.

No. The video clearly shows Garrett grabbing Mason by the facemask and Mason pushing away with his foot. There was no "kick" to groin like you claimed.

And I've never said that Mason didn't do anything either. But Garrett is the one who escalated the entire scenario multiple times. I clearly mentioned Mason retaliated. But to summarize Garrett's actions as being "provoked" is terrible justification for using a helmet as a weapon.

It happened pretty quick and there was 8 seconds left in the game. So it wouldn't be super odd if the Ref didn't have time (or wasn't prepared) to throw the flag immediately. As soon as both players were down, they started scuffling and the ref tries to break it up. Let's not forget that Garrett was fined earlier in the season for a late hit on Siemian that ended his season.

It absolutely should have been a roughing the passer penalty by the rule.

It would be super odd. It would be the first documented ref that chose to intervene between players before dropping the flag if he felt it was flag worthy.

He had plenty of time to throw it, watch the video again on how slow the “tackle” on Rudolph was. You can also see the lack of reaction by the ref as it’s happening and the 2 OL because no one thought the take down was dirty.

After on the ground, Rudolph starts pulling at the back/bottom of Garrett’s helmet.

There are 2 posted videos in this thread that show all of this.

Separately, what does the fine at another point in time prove? Completely irrelevant to this case.

You might want to watch again. #71 throws his hands up asking for the flag as soon as the takedown happens. A flag would have been thrown. Not sure why you are arguing this point.

I also don’t see a flag thrown when Garrett hits Rudolph with the helmet, nor when Pouncey is beating on Garrett.
