It's a tryout. Unless one of the drills was for him to commit a felony on camera, there's nothing for the general public to take from it. Just the boring stuff from his video without the underserved praise from Twitter handles. The real issue was that nfl teams couldn't try him out without inviting criticism for not signing him. This was meant to be a way around that, and Kaepernick used that for his own advantage

Are you kidding me? Right or wrong, the "general public" evaluates sports talent every day.

And maybe teams didn't try him out because he's a mediocre QB with baggage. If any team thought they could win with him, they'd brought him in.

The general public decided that he was a human rights activist based on his borderline insane and dangerous social commentary. They decided that he was better than many of the QBs in the league based on a few throws on a high school field. The general public is even dumber than they were a few years ago when Kaepernick caused such a mess , and the NFL wanted to prevent him from using their stupidity as a weapon against them once again . That stupidity has earned him a lot of money over the past few years, not his ability to play football .

Anyway, it's clear that he doesn't want to play football, that he really has no incentive to, and what would have transpired if the NFL allowed him to run the tryout like he wanted. It would have been a self-serving clown show, just like every appearance that he makes in front of a camera is and his private workout was, and they would have suffered for it and it would have overshadowed their actually product, which is now entering the prime of the regular season and actually has good players worthy of camera time

Titan Jeff made a good point. Kap doesn't trust the NFL and the NFL doesn't trust him.

After he was released by the 49ers, at that time, mediocre or not he was better than a lot of backup QB's and a few starters. No one signed him.

Him moving the tryouts to another facility was the wrong decision and may have cost him his chance to play in the NFL.

Their are players who have had far worse off the field issues and are playing to this day. Big Ben accused of rape twice,Reuben Foster guns and assault, AB, Pacman,( AB currently out and Pacman retired) I mean I can go on. All he did was take a knee and the NFL didn't care about the basic rights we have under The Constitution, they care about the Dollar. The workout was a gift and a coverup at the same time.

A player can do good things and take a stand for what they believe in as long as the brand of the NFL, in this case being money, doesn't get threatened. When sponsors and endorsers started lightin' up the phones of NFL owners he became a problem.

    It's a soap opera now.
