One important aspect about the "benching of Mariota" that the organization no doubt was looking for was a significant improvement in the number of sustained drives and an increase in point production. This not happening, folks. If anything, it's declining.

Either Mariota and Tannehill are incapable of moving the offense or Vrabel & Smith are bad coaches. I think that question has already been answered.

The Titans know that Mariota performed better under a more seasoned and experienced coaching staff. They're now stuck with the least experienced of them all and the offense is appalling. Oh sweet Lorraine, we've taken a huge step down since OC Lafleur and he wasn't all that above average. The organization knows about the decline, they're not overlooking it, right? For the team's sake, I hope not.

The drop has been the difference in having clothes on and not having them on. Shameful! The Titan organization hast to try something to make this offense less embarrassing or be laughed out of dodge.

The only thing they're willing to do is play it out and hope the QBs can carry the load so that the Titans will win but they know the odds of that happening against good teams are very slim.

For instance the bucs held the offense to one TD scoring drive and it was only on account of two questionable pass interference penalties that the Titans even made it down the field. Oh boy, another subpar game. All this points to Vrabel and Smith but they're rookies.

The fault that the offense is dormant and not jelling does not lie with Mariota and the brass knows it. Oh they sure do.

I would imagine that if Tannehill, by his play, proved that the coaching staff was not to blame for Mariota's offensive inefficiency then they would have been interested in trading him. Yeah but stop for a moment. Mariota has his own advisors too about the many bungle headed mistakes that this organization has already made.

This little benching may very well be the straw that breaks the camel's back. If not, it should be. I think it's about time Mariota throws his arms up in disgust, don't you?

I think this franchise has steptoed off a cliff and trashed everything they were previously trying to do. How do you pick up the pieces of a once promising offense to one that is completely shattered? You don't!

 

Mariota can feel free to throw his arms up in disgust. He'll probably miss that throw too.

Pretty sure his old college coach realizes just how flawed he is as a QB.

 

Mahomes has a cannon. Mariota isn't even close to mahomes in any way. He's even less like Wilson. He doesn't escape the pocket like Wilson. I'm sorry you lost your mom, but Mariota isn't an NFL quarterback.

 

Oregon ducks haven't exactly set the league on fire if Mariota has "set the bar" in the NFL.

 

Heisman Winner doesn't always translate to NFL quality.

That's an award for the best player in the NCAA... which doesn't prepare kids for the Pros.
