Vrabel's job was to make Mariota the Titans franchise QB and that means create an offensive scheme that would tap into his athletism and strengths. What we got was the exact opposite of that. It's laughable that an attempt was made considering the direction this monster lineman took the team.

Not too many QBs can spearhead their team at Arrowhead stadium in a come from behind victory in a critical playoff game the way Mariota did. And not too many franchises would fire their coach afterwards either. Mike Mularkey's offensive scheme was trashed and was never heard from again. The Titan organization didn't know what they had when they had it and what they had they didn't know what to do with. They tried to fix something that was not broken.

Vrabel's offensive scheme fits nicely for Ryan Tannehill but not Marcus Mariota. Vrabel failed Mariota in taking this team in a different direction, it's as simple as that. He was no doubt the wrong man for the job. He just installed his style of play which had nothing to do with Mariota. He could care less about improving the play of a quality QB and that was the case last year and all season long.

This is a lie. Tannehill and Marcus are pretty much the same threat duo QBs. The offense fits both of them, however Marcus just sucks.

Mularkeys offense took a hit in his 2nd year as a HC. So it isnt like Marcus was producing with smashmouth diarrahea offense either.

You're just typing alot of random bull**** that doesnt equal any facts.

Ken Whisenhunt, Mike Mularkey, Mike Vrabel, Jason Michael, Terry Robiskie, Matt LeFleur, and Arthur Smith all failed Marcus Mariota.

    Or Mariota isn't any good.

I love how people talk about the "pass he threw to himself and scored a td" as if he didnt throw the ball directly to 2 chiefs that should have been a pick 6 but they knocked it down right back to mariota.

His greatest play ever was probably one if the worst passes ever. Very fitting.

Mariota will become the new ryan Fitzpatrick over the coming years going from city to city blowing up for a couple of games here or there teasing everyone then hell be gone only to do it again.

There's not an OC past or present on the planet responsible for Mariota missing Henry in the flat by 2 yards when he was less than 10 yards away. This move absolutely had to be made. Is it THE fix? Doubtful. I'd say if Vrabel wants to keep his job next season he better start looking at new offensive line coaches, well, yesterday. Giving up 7 sacks in one game to a team that only had 5 all season is inexcusable, and certainly not an ingredient to going from 'good to great!' I keep hearing a lot of criticisms of Saffold specifically but when every other person on the line is struggling it makes me look at the broader picture - it has to be coaching (or lack thereof).

But, I've said it to my buddies all season that if we had just a half-way competent QB that our record would be reversed or possibly even better, so I hope I'm correct in that assessment as I believe Tanny is at best half-way competent.

Still though, in the dark recesses of my brain, I can help but find an almost eerie similarity to the Oilers season in 1993, when after going 1-4 in the first 5 games, starter Warren Moon was benched for the backup the fans all wanted to see, the Commander himself Cody Carlson. Injured in his very first start against the Pats, Moon finished the game and the season, leading the Oilers to a 12-4 record. We're currently 2-4, our starter has been benched for the backup fans want to see, and said QB is injury prone enough that no one would be shocked if he didn't finish the game.

Who knows, but if history does happen to repeat itself, you heard it here first!

I could totally buy the tannehill getting hurt part. Marcus then ripping off ten straight wins is the part I find highly improbable.
