You think this franchise would've placed the franchise tag on him? With all these massive QB contracts, I think they would've tried to get him signed ASAP for a sweetheart deal sooner rather than later.

Yes. Otherwise you end up in a Dolphins/Tannehill Bears/Cutler Jags/Bortles situation.

The worst kind of QB to be tied to is an average one.

I reckon it depends where you get your sources from. It seems like it's 60/40 in favor of Mariota all other sites. But we all know they don't watch the games. Just going off the media hype that once surrounded Mariota.

You do need to be the bottom of the barrel to get a new QB. Unless you give up 2 years worth of draft picks to move up.

I wouldn't group Tannehill with Bortles or Cutler. They had good years with phenomenal defenses. Tannehill has been around .500 with below average to flat out awful defenses for the majority of his career. Tannehill is more comparable to Alex Smith. You could do better, but you could certainly do worse. If you draft a QB, it better be the right one

And here's where I stopped reading.

    1. Vrabel is the head coach. It's his friggin' job to put the team in the best position to win.

    2. All Mariota has proven is he's wildly inconsistent.

I hate how things have shaken out with Mariota as much as anyone. He seems such a great kid. But, at some point, you have to show growth and consistency to earn a long-term contract and Marcus has done neither. It sucks for all involved that Mariota hasn't developed.

Blame the coach, system, receivers, OL, etc. but, in the end, an NFL QB has to be able to make accurate passes to wide open receivers.

Actually, if he does go elsewhere and does well... you could argue it would be good for us fans to finally have a sticking point on how bad the staffs have been in player development.

Sounds like 5-6 QBs will be drafted 1st round this year.
    Tua
    Fromm
    Burrow
    Eason
    Herbert
    Maybe Montez

I know the link below isn’t the be all end all by any means, but if there are a handful of QBs, titans may not have to tank as bad as some think or trade up. Considering the rankings below vs. what it seems the board wants, the 3/4 QB to be taken would be Eason or Montez (burrow is actually projected a 3-5 round pick) so titans may very well be in the right spot to get the QB they want.

Still way too much time plus combines that will move all these guys around but Tennessee will probably just end around 6-10, maybe 10th pick, should have a QB available.
