if he wants to be elite he can start by not dropping open passes on 3rd down and making those “insane” catches he makes during training camp during actual games.

The thing about Davis is people say things like 5th pick and expect him to be better than Julio Jones. Because 5th pick. Without really considering the strength of the draft.

    1. Garrett. Good.
    2. Trubisky. Up and Down, like Mary.
    3. Soloman Thomas. Depth guy.
    4. Fournette. Up and down. Almost got released.
    5. Davis.
    6. Adams. Pretty good, but we liked Byard and our safeties are beasts right now.
    7. Mike Williams. 50% less production than Davis.
    8. McCaffery. Beast. Maybe best RB in the league right now.
    9. John Ross. Invisible until this year. Almost got released.
    10&12. We aren't taking a QB of Mary's 26/9 year 2.
    11. Lattimore. Amazing rookie year. Kinda up and down since.
    13. Hassan Reddick. Kind of a disappointment.

    Etc, etc, etc.

Marlon Humphrey might be the only other guy that makes sense at the 5 pick. And most here hated him at draft time.

Clearly should have drafted McCaffrey at 5

300 rec yds and 7 rec TDs more than Davis and he's a RB lol

I was down on him as the pick but man was I wrong

There is drafting on need, and drafting best available. Seems we draft more on need which is kinda scary. Sometimes it works out, most of the time it does not. The wide receivers in that draft were not all that great (at least top pick material) and we rolled anyways. No 40 time, and coming off injury did not seem to matter to JROB

WR was definitely a need more than just a RB but McCaffrey was both, with a unproven Henry and an aging Murray on the roster it would have been a more logical choice.

Miss that sideliner where he looked like julio or moss? Im not saying he is them, but he makes player much more often than not. And if you only got stuff 2 say about 1 thing I said, I think my point stands.

I was telling my father this, this morning. I was so into drafting him I cant explaine it. I like henry but Mc is on a hof track and everyone is trying to stop him but they cant.

Edit: I know the last 2 posts seem contradictory, I still think Davis can be elite but obviously like I said, taking Mcaffrey was the right move. The guy might be the one thing thay could make mm look good.

If I look back I think I was asking for lattimore (we needed a CB) or Adams because we didn’t have byard yet.

I agree McCaffrey fits this offence better than Davis.

Oh well should have taken JJ Watt over Locker too lol
