None of them have Jamil 12 grade Douglas protecting them

 

Thing is, I like Mariota.

I want him to be 'the guy'. Unfortunately though, he's just not getting any better. Im convinced now that the majority of it is mental. He's damaged from injuries, fumbles, collapsing pockets. Its all come together to bring what we see on tv today - a mentally scrambled QB who holds onto the ball too long when the pocket collapses, feels pressure when it isn't there and makes a bad throw as a result.

Watching us though is just so uninspiring compared to other sides - who bring rookies into the league and play to their strengths. We are a tough tough watch.

 

maybe, but something I have been paying attention to is the rush and how the line collapses. It is just about the same with every team I have watched as it is with us. Yeah, Douglas is terrible, but just about every oline has atleast one guy who is terrible. I watched 2 plays in a row today where the Ravens blew right through the oline and Mahommes threw 2 incompletions and avoided the sack. And I mean, they blew right threw, same as some of the plays we saw the other night. But Mahommes was so fast getting the ball out. He read the blitz and make a super fast pass. Better to throw an incompletion than take the sack.

And that is just an example, every team I watched had similar things. If Mahommes had been sacked on either or both of those two plays, it would NOT have been considered his fault, the o-line was certainly to blame. Didn't matter though, he responded like a NFL qb and got rid of the ball fast.

 

I agree man . I was watching highlights of Bucs - Giants and both qb’s , one being a rookie , were throwing lasers under heavy duress . Granted I saw picks and sack fumbles but quite a few chunk completions . Today’s game seems to be that , intense pressure and quick release lasers to playmakers that win one on one’s . There is absolutely no room for standing and looking around . You read it and sling it quick or takeoff running to buy time or get yards . That’s it . Marcus used to have such a quick release and throw dimes , his head ain’t in it right now. He’s not having fun . Nobody is.
