Listen. I'm not going to waste my time explaining all of what has already been said to you. It's there for you to see. That deep hitch or comeback to Davis was open, but Mariota is so risk averse and focused on his first read that he won't throw on anticipation. Did you look at the video of the first attempt of the game? Poor fundamentals and missed Walker.

Nobody is going to give us jack for Mary. For one, he sucks. For another, he's vastly overpaid. For third, we are the only team that even thinks it is possible that he is any kind of franchise QB, and most even here no longer think that.

Why give anything for a guy who will be on the street in a few months?

This is exactly where I'm at. I'm done with mariota. I don't believe the team will extend him, and frankly, if they do, that may well be the nail in the coffin of my fan hood.

I would rather see what we have in tannehil. I think there's a better chance he's a serviceable starter than Mary at this point. And id like to see if he can be a bridge for our rookie next season.

If Mary gets carted off this year, the person in me will hate it for him. The fan in me won't give a damn. That book is closed as far as I'm concerned.

The hate is because we do have a good team, but it is being wasted with bad, timid qb play.

We are just throwing good money after bad hoping to recoup on a 2nd overall pick that is clearly a bust.

We don't even need a Brees Brady type. Average qb play would do. Marcus can't even deliver that.

A couple more weeks, and it's really gonna be ugly. They signed a capable qb to push Marcus. It's getting real close to time to make a change before its too late for this season.

The problem with your posts is that you throw something untrue in to bolster your opinion instead of sticking to what's real.

You're not gonna waste your time explaining what's been said to me? You'll spend multiple posts insulting me but trying to have a discussion of what's really going on is a waste of your time? LOL!!!

I see. So you don't care what's real, you just want Mariota gone and will simply bash anyone who doesn't hate him? For made up reasons? AWESOME!:sarcasm:

Furthermore, you make comments about what I 'think' when clearly you don't know what I think. You came to the conclusion that everything I think about the Herndon plays is wrong...yet it's a waste of your time to discuss it?

Do you think players in a system in year 1 or 2 are going to go beyond the system? Not usually. Mariota may be in year 5 of his career but he's in game like 16 in this offense and even then, this offense is clearly not the same as last year. You complain - rightly so - about Mariota's fundamentals needing work...but then expect he's gonna go off script to change a progression? He's not there yet. Neither is Tannehill. On the comeback play, Humphries is his first read as they were trying to catch the defense napping with Humphries staying in to block the blitzer to leak out late. I've already explained this play. Is Davis open? Yes...but they are trying to hit Humphries and he threw him the ball. The defense was better on the play. We called a lot of little checkdown plays like this...screen to Humphries, screen to Davis, screen to Henry, etc

You claim he's so fixated on his first read he 'won't' throw with anticipation? He did so on the first play of the game. It was a bad throw, but he threw it with anticipation. He threw a few plays to Walker outside between zone defenders with anticipation. He threw a few sideline passes with anticipation. He threw a post to Davis with anticipation. So what are you talking about saying he won't throw with anticipation?

As I said, you mix the true things with untrue stuff to pile on and make him look worse. Stick with reality and you'll have credibility. When you make stuff up...not so much.

As I've said to ABC and 520 and others, there are enough things to accurately criticize Mariota for without making stuff up. Give it a shot!

Is it so hard to believe that a QB should be held accountable for throwing for 154 in a pass happy league with our receiving talent? There have been some really poor QBs with really poor supporting casts who have done better than 154 yards and 1/10 on third down. There are bad games, but then there are inexcusable bad games in which the players remind you of every single weakness that they have and that they are what they are.

There is a reason why almost everyone is jumping off of his ship. That was a career breaking performance. Unbelievable that some people are trying to point the finger elsewhere. We were incompetent at passing the ball to proven pass catchers who were open on tape, and at moving the chains. We ran the ball well, held the opposing team to 19 points in spite of our defense living on the field, and our kicker wasn't perfect yet outperformed theirs by a wide margin.

Gut should have gone into politics. His filibustering is really beginning to show it's lack of substance.

Didn't he deliver average to above average QB play in week 1?

I understand your frustration with Mariota. I really do! But we have bigger problems beyond just the QB. QB will work itself out. Mariota will provide the level of play they want or he won't. If he doesn't, at some point they'll give tannehill a shot and that will be that.

How come no one is hating on the wr's who dropped key passes? Jones setting us back on 2 first down run plays cuz he got knocked back into henry's path (and he just signed an extension), or Saffold who just got paid and has already given up more sacks this year than probably his last two seasons in LA, or 8 players on D who missed key tackles that would have made Indy punt, or gotten sacks on Jacoby B or Santos for missing a 45 yard kick? or the coaches for 'saving' henry when he was rolling so our offense could stall, and then not use him in the 4th quarter or a whole lot of coaching issues?

Mariota has been a problem...but if all of these other things aren't problems too...Mariota would be playing average to above average ball and this hatred goes away. Would still be an argument about whether he deserves an extension or is just a product of those around him....but we'd be in much better shape.

I hope we take these frustrations out on the Jags!!!

Ever since Mcnair the same thing always happends with our Qbs they are always middle of the pack (or worst) Qbs and to make things wosrt we always swicht offensive coordinator every year.

We need to get this right it's killing our franchise.

We give Mariota 5 years it's time move on.

So should everyone be held accountable for their performance...or only blame the QB for everyone's mistakes? You keep absolving the wr's who dropped passes, the wr who ran the wrong route and messed up a big play, the wr who ran backwards to cost us a key first down, the poor blocking (run and pass - and I'm not talking about sacks that were Mariota's fault), not running henry more when he's ripping them up at a 5+ypc, and letting all the time run out on the playclock before we punted the ball when we were losing.

Your problem is you want to invoke the accountability thing, but you ignore it for everyone not named Mariota. Football is a team sport and you need the TEAM to win. I point out Mariota's fault and mistakes...I just don't make up stuff to pile on top of them and blame other people's mistakes on him.

So, should everyone be held accountable for their mistakes? Yes or no?

Mariota in every press conference takes the blame for his mistakes and everyone else's. He's gonna say that because that's the criticism coming down because it didn't work out. Even after Smith presser Mariota went in and tried to defend him and take blame off of him.

Listen to Smith talking about it and he says a lot of what I said ironically. if you run the play on 3rd down and don't get out of bounds (and every play we ran weren't sideline plays), you don't have time to spike it as there is probably 10 seconds or less left. That tells me this was how they planned to run the 2min drill...but it wasn't a good plan. And as Smith said in his presser, you have to look at all of the plays because they wasted a lot of time so you have to go all the way back to the first down play. He agreed he needed to call better plays!
