He absolutely did what he had to. It was close to the ground when he got his hands on it

I understand what you’re saying but start a new thread to talk about whatever you want to talk about.

And the point is not about one throw...it’s whether ppl like abc hold everyone to the same standard Or they don’t. They are cutting Taylor slack for a slightly more difficult catch but no matter the circumstances or difficulty...they expect perfection from the qb!

Do they even realize they are biased against him?

Mariota’s ceiling is an interesting conversation but not easily had with people who deny facts Or live with ‘alternative’ facts that they make up and then criticize ppl for.

So if you want to talk about something mundane. Start a new thread and we’ll discuss that there.

That catch is tough to hold onto, but I’m not even a receiver and have done it. And have had one bounce free. It’s catchable, which is what I thought the convo was about.

It’s tough to see some things from watching on tv, but live you can see it all develops. Like when the wr doesn’t run the right route etc.

At 1st it seemed like everybody was against Mariota but then it turned out to be just a few who were loud and always backed each other. On cue.

My fear was a VY situation where the fans could influence the FO. Mariota getting his shot this year imo is fair and it’s out of my control how he plays.

I just didn’t want to see a few turn the whole fan base. I saw someone at the game trying to do it against the Eagles. Almost looked disappointed when we won. I would just listen and nod my head. The Patriots game was one of beauty. You hardly noticed him all game but he was just efficient. Goes to show even Brady can look mediocre when rattles (Baltimore for us).

We have a talented team on the brink. QB stability means we could have a dynasty. Give the guy his shot.

I’m saying 225 ya avg a game (3,375) with 25+ total TD’s and 9 or less total turnovers. He’s improved a lot protecting from his fumbling issues and strip sacks. And noticeably improved his escape ability. He could be elite with help. He’s the 1 an of the pack who didn’t regress, just dealt with injuries.

I think it’s a stupid article in its own right ranking players that mostly won’t see the field but they went further and made some bizarre choice for “best”. How is Miami with Rosen that high?
On the same line, I think it would be a disqualifies if your starter is s bad that the backup may be the starter, not because he’s good.

Your breakdown of his downfield throws was good input and value added content. Where we get off the rails is when we can't see the forest for the trees and just start debating whether one play was a drop or bad throw.

Just saying that we need to keep things in context and not get too down in the weeds. One play is not going to define or change anyone's view of Marcus.

Yeah, but with Mariota's ceiling I am sure he can eclipse number 10 on the list next season...

"Watson took the Texans to the playoffs by throwing for 4,165 yards, 26 touchdowns, only nine interceptions, and a 103.1 passer rating."

That is child's play for a talent like Mariota.
