Titans trade for Tannehill

They are banking on the pipe dream of finding a organization-elevating QB.

 

Should have went after tannehill. Glad the titans got him to replace Mariota.

 

How is this ‘still’ the top thread ... ugh May-June no news ...

 

These plays are great highlights when they work...but in game film critique time, they are not good....because MOST of the time, these are turnovers.

The top throw, Tannehill stares down his receiver so much the S is breaking on the route before Tannehill even throws it. That pass is picked or broken up most of the time.

And on the bottom one, that's also a play that gets picked 80-90% of the time. When you're getting crushed, the last thing you want your QB to try and throw it deep while getting crushed...most of the time the ball is really underthrown and an easy pick for the FS. But you're happy when it works out. Here, Tannehill DOES get enough arm on it and drops it in the bucket.

But this goes to technique and decision making. And this isn't the only highlight you've shown where Tannehill is getting hit and just throws it up. Of course, you're showing us the GREAT result plays...not what usually happens when you try this.

And don't mistake what I'm saying. If these were highlights of Mariota, I'd be saying the same thing. It's great to get some lucky breaks...and I haven't watched Tannehill enough to know if these were just a couple of bad decisions (one bad technique in staring down, the other a bad decision to throw it) or if he does this frequently.

Don't worry, I'm not rooting against Tannehill. I'm just not in love with him. I root for all of our players to play their best...and that includes Tannehill!

 

I don't think anyone is really in love with Tanny. The Mariota lovers hate him because he's the new side piece that actually has SOME ability. The Mariota haters love him because, well, he's the new side piece, and everyone loves new.

I'd say he's an inconsistent, injury prone, mediocre quarterback. So now we have a spare at least when ours breaks.

I’m confused by this . I’m a Mariota fan and I’m downright giddy and grateful to have Tanny and if Mariota gets hurt or stinks it up and Tanny gets hot , I’m riding with Tanny. Is this not what all “normal” Titan fans should do? I really don’t get this in house qb bickering. Everyone should be supporting Marcus (he is our starting qb) and Tanny as well and if Tanny rocks so be it . Any other type of thinking is metro sexual to say the least. Please TitanUp

 

I agree completely. I hope one or the other of out QBs catches fire. Don't really care which.

 

Hey I don’t care which one heats up. Just stay healthy and f ing win. I’m sick of average. Division has been ripe for the taking since I can remember. We better win it! Tannehill, Mary, I don’t care...Just someone step up.
