Can Taywan Taylor still be a factor?

Second, if Mariota has a great year, you'd rather get rid of him and take a 2nd or 3rd round QB (the only thing available late in round 1 at QB) so we can HOPE to develop him in a few years?

 

Might be a Jennings or Sharpe type situation. We'll have to see where Jennings is at wr relative to everyone else and how good (and needed) his special teams play is. I believe Jennings led the league in kick return avg so that might keep his foot in the door...but keep in mind that the more talented the roster, the more difficult it is to be a fringe player and stay on the roster. I think we have about 9 wr's that I can think of (probably more) so it's gonna be tough for everyone not named CD or Humphries.

I would take Drew Lock or will grier at a cheap rookie deal over what we've seen of Mariota at 25 mil a year all day long.

Now hopefully next year we can find a better prospect than those. The new guy will be coming into a good situation, unlike what Mariota walked into.

You seem to think that RT had a chance to beat out Mariota and be our starter. If Mariota starts, in your opinion, does that mean Mariota beat him out or does that mean that RT was always brought here to be the backup?

 

Not this season, the FO has already made that plain with a public statement.

Btw, do you have to bring up your dislike for Mariota in EVERY thread? What's your opinion about Taylor?

 

I believe it’s more likely that Tannehill starts for Mary when he gets hurt again, and if he gets hot, they’ll ride the hot hand and let Mary recover etc...No question Mary is the starter, it’s just having a better backup and guy that can start multiple games with a better chance to win than we previously had....
