Can Taywan Taylor still be a factor?

He will have low output due to our inconsistent QB. That said, Brown is coming into the NFL more polished arguably than Corey Davis. He also isn’t hurt. I like Davis a lot, and I think he will be just fine, but it’s not unreasonable to think AJ Brown can outproduce guys like Taylor, Sharpe, Jennings right away. He’s more physical, better after the catch, and can play outside and inside. He has a ton of production to show for it as well.

You obviously misinterpreted the part about being slow and unable to get open. I thought that it was pretty self-explanatory. You can't teach someone to be more athletic. Sharpe can be as refined a route runner as he wants to be, but if the CB can run his routes all day, it won't really matter. Can you convert an OL to WR and expect for him to become an effective target with some simple coaching and experience?

And you’re somehow thinking all that’s gonna change with the same oft injured QB and another new TE coach turned OC who’s never called plays before?

    Ok.

Those are mighty big words JR that the 51st pick is coming into the league more polished than the #5 overall. He was a 2 time Belitnikof winner, 1st team All-American and the all time leader for receiving yards for the entire NCAA.

Davis was consistency mentioned as one of the most NFL ready WRs with his advanced and refined route running skills to go along with his impressive athletic abilities.

Don’t be a Homer. I hate hearing from Titans fans how AJ Brown(insert draftee here) should’ve been the 1st overall pick if only 31 teams didn’t pass on them multiple times for some crazy reason.

I was referring to Taylor and co. But yes, Davis was hurt; which makes a huge difference....That’s not being a homer, that’s fact. I think we are in a good situation honesty, the question is whether or not Mariota can excel, and I’m not holding my breath.

I don't know. I was really disappointed that we took Davis at 5. Maybe one of the guys who loves to research stats can show us the players after 5 that could have had more of an immediate impact.

I was really high on Chris Godwin, a 2nd round pick.

Godwin was my dude. And he was actually on the board when we took Taywan.

...but looking back, the Davis pick seems pretty solid. I kinda think we take Lattimore if we don't take Davis. And that would have been a fine pick. But I tend to think would have whiffed at 18, not take Jayon in the 5th, etc.

Davis and Adoree and Jayon are a good core, IMO.

Of that class JuJu is head and shoulders above and Mike Williams had a very nice 2018. Those guys aren’t 1s, and neither should CDavis be.

Once again, a case of way too many Titan fans having unreal expectations of a drafted rookie and this is what happens, he’s started to call “disappointing, not polished, etc”.

Still laughing at all the fans that expected no less than 1000yd 10td seasons off the bat.

How did you come up with Brown playing only 10 games?

Are you expecting the offense to play the same as it did last year? By your numbers you're expecting Brown to play like Taylor did last year. So why did we spend our 2nd round pick on him? And you don't think Humphries will have a noticeable impact on the offense being better (more catches, more points, and more yards)?

So you make silly statements. I call you on them asking you questions...which you never answer. Then you make more silly statements.

First, you absolutely CAN train someone to be more athletic. What do you think these college guys have been doing since the end of college to prepare for the combine/pro days and draft? Sitting around eating chips?

They are learning how to be more athletic and training to do so. They are also training skill specific things for their expected position and drills they've never done or need to get better at.

What do you think route running is? What do you think it's used for? How come a 4.6 40 guy like Jerry Rice can get open against a faster and more 'athletic' player all day long? Why doesn't the CB just...in your words "run his routes all day"???

And to answer your question, no I can't turn most NFL OL into a wr because they are too big and not athletic enough for the position. Now, we have seen TE's become OL and vice versa...but not in the way you'd think usually. Point is, can you train people to become more athletic? Yes.
