Not a big PFF guy but shouldn’t how long the QB holds the ball, how quickly WR get open, how good the defense they play is, and any erroneousl injuries also be taken into account?
Im simply stating the sack stats someone brought up (42 for MM, and 3 seasons with higher for THill) doesn’t just point to THill as worse and neither of those stats are any good. 42 is about 20 too high and that wasn’t even a complete 16 game season. 58 is way too high but at least taking that beating it was over 16 games.

For sake of comparison, the % of times sacked on drop backs
    MM career 7.4%
    THill career 7.9%

Coincidentally in 2018 they both had career highs with 11.3% of dropbacks resulting in a sack.
    MM 42 for 242
    THill 35 for 279.

So if it’s worth anything, MM gets sacked for less yards on avg.

You might want to think about what you’re actually saying since what you’re saying now proves my point and dispetoves your own.

The numbers are the numbers. They aren’t opinion to agree or disagree...they are what they are. You keep pointing out that Saffold looks like a better player...because he is a better player.

And that’s why we got him...NOT because he’s a better athlete...because we didn’t get better athletes! Only better players....because that’s what we needed!

I didn’t commend their athleticism...just pointed out that you incorrectly thought we got new OL because we needed better athletes. We didn’t get better athletes. We got better players because that’s what the OL needs!

Change of direction. Agility. Speed. Explosion. Strength. You think none of these things has anything to do with an OL’s ability to play?

LOL! Why do you think they measure these things?

But I digress. Point is...even you have come to the realization that being a better athlete doesn’t make you a better player. And since we got better players...you can’t say we didn’t need them.

And yes, your argument is not a good one as it is easily disproved and has been disproven (we got new Ol because they are better athletes). Even you agree...you just might not realize it.

It doesn't measure play speed. Only game film does. And that's all that matters.

Dude you are the one who brought up athleticism. You said we upgraded to more athletic guards.

A good combine doesn’t mean you’ll make plays on a football field. I don’t why that’s so hard to understand.

Now all of a sudden you are saying Spain and Kline were problems though.... can’t you just admit you were wrong?

I haven’t followed him since he’s been in the league so not enough is the short answer. I suspect we will have a lot of competition at C and RG. I expect him Levin and Jones to compete for OC and RG to have even more competition. I’d like to see RT be part of the competition as Conklin looked bad last year coming off the injury and Kelly looked good. Opens the possibility of Conklin potentially moving to RG.

We also could add another vet.

I posted an article. I never said they were good. It's clear that we were looking to upgrade the interior. And getting more athletic was a quote from an analyst regarding Spain getting benched in favor of Jones going to guard and Levin playing center during one of the games. He wasn't as sold on Spain's athletic prowess as you are
