Chris Johnson, definitely was disappointed when we drafted him in 08, but turned out to be one of my favorite Titans of all time. He made our team so fun to watch, never knew when he was gonna break out an 80 yarder. One of the greatest draft picks in franchise history.

In his prime, CJ was the most exciting player since the move to Tennessee, IMO. He was probably among the most frustrating too when he wasn't in his prime.

Refs screwed him from the single-season rushing record tho.

Pre payday CJ was possibly better than EG but it was too short a period and he wasn’t much of a team guy, especially after his payday.
As fat as Lenwhale got, that back field for 2seasons was among the best ever.

I welcome CJ back to retire. Makes more sense than ATV who I think many casual fans probably forgot all about and certainly don’t bring him up 5-6 years after he was gone.

What kept CJ being one of my favorite Titans of all time was his longevity... his greatness was so shortlived.

I think for a very brief period, he was the most dynamic player ever.

We used him up, too. Maybe could have had 4 or 5 great years instead of 2 if we just gave him the ball with the flow of the game in 09.

I think after payday his fight dropped dramatically. If the hole for a TD wasn’t there, the closest guy to swing a hand by him was credited with the tackle.

I’ll agree the OL had started to decline (Mawae retiring was a big start) but he didn’t fight through tackles either.

Maybe. He was starting to wear down before he held out, IMO.

There’s no what if’s Jeff. If he doesn’t get injured on what should have been a 15 yard penalty then we would have continued to scorch the rat birds and eventually win the Super Bowl

His game vs Jags in 2009 was something special
