Um...maybe if he was 25 right now this would be a conversation. But since he's only 23 and will be for most of the NFL season, that's a non-issue. He's 4 years away from his athletic prime. Not a problem.

Many plays he made simply because he could overpower linemen. He's got other traits, but his power was a big one. But that power was against guys who were likely several years younger than him. Will that translate? That's my worry. I love his motor, character, and quickness. Age and length aren't as inspiring

I don't really agree with your take fundamentally. Wilkins is NOT a power player. One of his few flaws is facing double teams. Simmons will stack your double team and keep your LB clean. Wilkins is not strong enough to stack at this point. He beats double teams by splitting them. He's a quick and shifty player who plays with great leverage, agility and angles. He doesn't really bull rush, he gets guys off balance and takes an angle on them and beats them. He's active against the run because he's hard to square up and just block. He's pretty good with his hands but his agility and shiftiness get guys off him because a lot of OL tend to lean.

Hiss length is a bit subpar...and that's always a concern...but he's not a guy who wins with length or power in college. He wins with his burst, agility, movement skills, hands and a high energy always on motor. It's also nice that Lawrence got more double teams freeing him up for more 1v1 situations (also freed up Ferrell).

They were matched up only a handful of plays. Wilkins was pretty disruptive in the game but was not on Bradbury much. Lawrence had more plays directly in pass blocking vs Bradbury and didn't get close. But NC State runs a ton of outside zone so Bradbury was frequently bumping and getting to the second level or sealing off inside pursuit from the second level. That game really shows Bradbury's quickness and ability to get on people at the next level as well as pull outside.

Exactly....That was such a bad pick...but 23 is much better.
