NE typically schemes pass rush rather than relying on a top edge rusher. I doubt they'd trade up for him to pay him more than Brady.

Two things are bad about this. First, he had a history of domestic abuse I think in his college days...so that may scare some people off. It's one thing to invest a high draft pick...it's another to invest a high draft pick AND a huge chunk of your cap AND a ton of guaranteed money.

He's a top EDGE rusher in his prime, but the fact that Seattle doesn't want to pay a top EDGE rusher in his prime should tell us something.

If the draft unfolds in a bad way (all the 1st round dt and edge and other players we grade as first rounders are gone), and we have no trade back scenarios that we like, I might do it if the contract is structured in a way to shield the team against any personal issue coming up...like spreading his guaranteed money out over a few years, etc. He's very good, but so are a lot of guys in this draft.

I don't see us doing this. I think we're more likely to go EDGE in round 1 and sign Suh than take this guy on...but, he's pretty good!

He's a violent idiot. We aren't trading a first and giving a bunch of money to a guy who the players and coaches have to walk on egg shells around. Imagine if he sucker punched one of our lineman like he did in Seattle. Lewan would literally kill him.

I understand not wanting him for various reasons but one year wonder???

He had 10 sacks in 2016 starting 5 games but played in 15.

He had 9 sacks in 2017 starting 12 games but playing in 15.

He had 13 sacks in 2018 starting 15 games this year.

I don't see a one year wonder. He's a top 10 pass rusher with baggage.

When a team openly wants to get rid of a player it makes me think they know something we don't. It's very different than a player openly wanting to leave a team. There's no way I'd give a first for him. Anytime a team openly looks to trade a player, I'm thinking a 3rd tops.
