No where did I say anything about Mariota but it’s just a point of how quickly people turn around and change what “franchise qb” can mean.

Good had an excellent year this year and was pretty good last year. “Franchise qb” has just become another slang word thrown around carelessly like “elite qb”.
But you don’t need either to win a SB.

It isn't required but it helps. Immensely. All you really gotta do is look at the teams that go deep in the playoffs.

You are going to have a hard time being consistently good without a top tier QB

Probably true... though, had our running game been more consistent, we might've had 1 or 2 games as wins.

Playoffs, most likely... but who knows for sure.

The "Goal" is the super bowl. The trade helped the rams get there, crazy defensive FA acquisitions and all. They got there because of the QB , they got their QB because of the trade.
They won that trade , they know what they have while we are still trying to figure out how to use what we got ... Just my 2 cents.

I picked Titans, although both did win .But how much of Goff is McVay?

That said ,Rams should not be in the Super Bowl .The Saints should be, that blown PI non call affected who went.

We won that trade to pull this team out of the toilet and into something competitive. However if you go look at our 2nd round picks JRob really dropped the ball. It's really the only two picks I've had major issue with besides the 6th round Qb last year (can't really argue about a 6th rounder though). With those first two picks in 2016 we could of had the following players:

For the Dodd pick (Pick one):
Jaylon Smith (yes I wanted him even with the knee issue)
    Miles Jack
    Chris Jones
    Sterling Shepard
    Hunter Henry

    Austin Johnson Pick (Pick one):
    Michael Thomas
    Mackenzie Alexander
    Cody Whitehair
    Dion Jones
    Tyler Boyd

Personally I would of went Smith/Thomas/Henry

That draft could of set us up for the next 5-10 years. I thought at the time that both the Dodd and Johnson picks were terrible given who else was on the board. We needed WR help and I still can't figure out how we didn't take Thomas with one of those picks. Granted maybe some if these players dont become what they are today on the Titans but they are certainly better than Dodd and more than likely better than Johnson.

Titans lost the trade the moment they traded up for a RT better suited at guard.
